Re: Stan on his mistake in the 97 grannie

It all turned pear shaped in R21 in the 3rd q against the Pies. Joel Smith did his road accident-style ACL - there went our precision kicking weapon off half back. R22 - Lazar does his ACL against Port on the Sunday night. There goes our enforcer Talisman. QF1 - Everiit breaks collarbone. There goe...

Re: Our 3rd largest comeback ever!

1985 Round 10 at Moorabbin v Essendon we were 44pts down (6.8) at 3 quarter time and staged a huge comeback against the reigning and eventual Premiers We kicked 9.2 for the quarter and got within 3 pts before ther kicked the final 4 goals in the final 5 mins of the game (they kicked 6.2 for the qua...

Re: Actually we live in interesting/exciting times

i'm coping by knowing the world cup is about to kick off so who cares about footy for a month! And who gives a rats about the world cup? I certainly don't and like I do with the rugby, league and other crap sports on foxtell, I will simply tune into a channel with something interesting on it. Macra...

Re: Too many teams for 1 league

Yes, I fear we have become the Fitzroy of the new millennial . The GWS experiment is fast becoming a farce, Gold Coast too, tiger will be a temptation to collapse us into one of those teams and then we are gone. Best we merge with GWS then. Lets take the initiative and push that idea. The alternati...

Re: Team v Swans. Billings dropped

Great to see Battle in. I agree that Lonie is the puzzling one. Its a good opportunity for Billings to go back and find some form. Also good to see Coffield back in. I didn't think Weller was that bad last week (apart from the missed goal). Overall I think they are good selections.

Re: This can be the difference a new coach makes

This is what we are reduced to....pecking feverishly over a loss and rejoicing we have morsels that prove all is not lost, we are spot on, we fought so well, got cheated by umps, if only we had another quarter ( we F@cking did...we had 3 of them), there's so much hope now, only positives from here ...

Re: Moral Victory - Proud of the boys tonight - Respect!

It was a great effort in the last quarter. It made the train trip home with all of the Eagles supporters bearable. A couple of them said to me that we had played well and one guy told me he thought we we would have won if the game had gone another five minutes. It reminded me of our famous 1998 win...

He is equally good on both sides, which makes a big difference. It means he doesn’t have to be super quick.

Couldn't be bothered reading any tripe comparing Billings to Fiora. Winner of the most ridiculous thread on any forum ever! If you don't want to read it then don't read it IluvHarvey. If you had bothered to read the OP the comparisons would have been obvious to you, but criticizing a post that you ...

Re: Is Billings our Fiora?

In 74 games Jack has had 20 or more touches 37 times . Fiora cracked 20 touches ONCE in his first 80 games. Fair comment and agreed - although I guess that players generally rack up a few more stats now than they did then given the way the game has changed. Billings also scores more often and attra...

Is Billings our Fiora?

I hope not, but there are some interesting similarities between the two. I remember the Richmond fans pulling their hair out over Fiora in the early 2000s, much the same as a lot of us do now re Billings. Both were highly-regarded juniors drafted at number 3, both one pick before future superstars (...

Re: We're on Track

Paddy in the seconds wouldn't help IMO, isn't he way too good for VFL standard. Isn't the best outcome for his fitness and development to play out the whole year without interruption, and hopefully with Bruce and Members along side him. If that happens I recon we will see some cause for optimism to...

Re: We're on Track

Paddy is going to be a jet. We need Paddy, Bruce and Members to play out the year together and build a chemistry. Them not being able to play together is arguably the single most reason why our progress has stalled. Tall forward lines will be back in vogue by seasons end and if West Coast win the f...

Re: We're on Track

I think selecting Battle over Paddy this week would be more of an indication we are on track. Looks like Battle played pretty well last week and we must pick players on form alone.

I can assure you all that under the current regime there will be significant change within the club. What that change is exactly I don’t know, but it’s 100% reliable source. Lethlean is the driver. Oh great. Another faux 'ITK' telling us all that things are going to improve and some great leader is...
