Re: 2019 Season a disaster already
I really liked how Riewoldt didn’t sugar coat how to assess this year. No excuses etc...he wants to see us play good footy with good buy in, commitment, a good game plan. If we see this, the rest takes care of itself ie: we win games we should win, we are competitive most weeks. For a club strugglin...

Re: Billings to join leadership group
Being elevated to the leadership group hs been a bit of a poisened chalice of late; think Newnes, Bruce, Weller...all gone off the boil after being elevated...lets hope it brings the best out in JB! we need a hero

Re: Hannebery unlikely to play AFL in first month of season
If this year is not to be the total train wreck that it is currently heading towards, it will be because a bunch of our younger players step up and prove that they can be the players we all hope they can be... Billings, Gresham, Pierce, Marshall, Lonie, Long, Clarke, Coffield, membrey, acres, Dunsta...

Re: Sam Rowe might be on the cards
Don’t forget, Carlton have a no.1 draft pick that plays Rowe’s positions, hence they could afford to let him go

Re: Sam Rowe might be on the cards
I believe that is why we have signed Rowe - because that is what he is, an AFL proven full back, Is he Daniel Talia...no...but imo, given our current list and injury dramas, it's a reasonable descision. No hystrionics required I reckon. Histrionics? Nah, we're actually talking about quality list ma...

Re: Sam Rowe might be on the cards
We have 1 proven afl standard fullback on our list - Nathan Brown...who is 32?33? He's not immune to injury. We have no other AFL proven 'full back', not centre half back, not running half back flanker, full back, that plays on the oppositions biggest, least mobile forward. I believe that is why we ...

Re: McCartin and Robbo to retire today
It’s very sad for both players, I hope they have great support around them to cope with the transition in their lives.
For our team, it offers great opportunity for others. I think the finality will help in some way to avoid ongoing distraction. It could help galvanise the squad.

Re: McCartin & Roberton
Paddy was fine during the second half and even after the game. It was only much later that he felt crook. As for Robbo initial thoughts are that’s it’s nothing to do with the ticker. But I reiterate , initial thoughts. Todays Age article talking about Roberton completely rubbish's Tony info, so eit...

Re: Who plays round 1 vs Gold Coast?
Saint Wagga I agree with most of the team but I do have some queries. No dan hanneberry? I assume you don't think he will be fit Lonie over Sinclair in the forward pocket? Sinclair was our only elite player until they played him in a role that was not right for him plus Lonie was poor last weekend ...

Re: Who plays round 1 vs Gold Coast?
Dunstan is well inside the best 22. Even when Steven and Hannerbury available? Absolutely. In fact I think players like Luke will improve dramatically with players like DH in the side. Luke was recruited into a basket case of a club and for a first year player had us all drooling at what he could b...

Re: Daniel McKenzie
I think Mackenzie looks like with growing confidence, he can improve his descion making...there is a bit of Isaac smith about him...like others have said, our shite structures, lack of enough quality senior players left a real confidence void which affected pretty much everyone’s disposal and descio...

Re: Brett Ratten
This caught my attention; McCartin's come back in ripping nick. He was in at the club today and he's probably dropped about six or seven kilos," Ratten said. Anyone else spot the problem here? I had to laugh when I read this about Mccartin! Preseason hasn’t even started and already he’s on the...

PPS: has Dinny ever seen Bruce ‘help’ in the ruck ffs! That is laughable! Bruce needs to earn his spot back from the 2’s for mine...missed a lot of footy!

Re: Weller
Thanks for your service Mav. He had some good games across the 5 years. None of those good games came beyond 2016, hence why he has been delisted. Played his best footy as a midfield tagger...another example of a player mismanaged, played out of position and eventually lost all form/direction. Sad ...

Re: D!cks in our hands....
Hawks will be in massive trouble in a 3-4 years with their list. I doubt it...I said the same of their list 5 years ago, that they'd hit a cliff, same with Geelong...hasn't happened. They were charmed the advent and timing of free agency, we missed out by a couple of years. Once Carlton get their s...

Goddard left at the end of 2012! We should have kept him, macevoy, dal...hindsight is a wonderful thing but over the last 5 years, it’s become obvious that it is near impossible to sell the farm. Put all ur eggs in the draft basket and remain competitive with no quality senior players...I said at th...

Re: Are the Saints finished this trade period?
What would be good would be if we can trade for a player that is proven, a grade quality afl standard player 23-26 in a position we are not overloaded with a grade players currently (that’s pretty much everywhere)...anything less is a letdown and makes the “we’ll be really aggressive during trade an...
