Perth radio is stating that Brown has selected St Kilda as his club of choice, and a deal is being done for a straight swap of Brown for Cripps.
I agree bigcarl. We'd lose out on that deal.

Re: Tom Lee Traded for our pick 12
Very happy to have Lee at the club. Was very good for Claremont and played very well in the Foxtel Cup Grand Final.
However... pick 12 is extortionate. Pick 30-40 would have been more appropriate.

Re: Club that win flags aren't meant t have $mill free
The AFL always claimed to be scared to challenge the players manipulating the draft because before free agency it was a way of curtailing the players running to court to cry restraint of trade. Now they should toughen the f*** up on these piss weak dogs who mess with the system. Tippett isn't a fre...

Re: This is what pick 13 gets us
Okay, fair enough. When I read it I thought the club weren't sure which band he was considered to be in - didn't consider other free agents. Having said that, I hope we don't waste our time on any other free agents. Goddard was the only one of any quality on the market, I'd prefer to see us invest i...

I'm very disappointed about this news. The longer it dragged on the more unlikely it was that he would stay though  Thanks for your many years of wonderful service Brendon. I cant beleive there are some who who think we should match the offer. Please tell me there are none who want to pay 3 million over 4 years to BJ. He is gone now because unless we do match it he must go. Good luck BJ. Dont blame you at all and blame the club even less. Money will always talk especi...

Re: Brendon Goddard set to sign with Essendon
The message it sends is that we won't pay over the odds. Because if you're an employee, it's music to your ears that your employer is not generous. The message it sends is that we will put the club before the individual. If you're a star player seeking a club to play at, how is this an incentive? Y...

Re: Where to play Siposs?
I've always thought Siposs could potentially play the HFF role that Hamill did. But he did look good along half back, so maybe he can play a similar role to what Goddard did. If Siposs can also be a 20 goal a year player - with only brief stints in the forward line - that would be a huge win for us.

Re: Brendon Goddard set to sign with Essendon
Robbo reported BJ wanted to sit down and discuss a fourth year with conditions met in the third. That doesn't sound like an unreasonable starting point for a discussion. Apparently the club flat out said no. That doesn't sound so reasonable to me. I agree. It sounds like Goddard has done everything...

Re: Brendon Goddard set to sign with Essendon
I've got no qualms with letting him walk. We need to be very clear that St Kilda is now a place where you come to be part of the culture and success, and to be part of that, you have to give up something. :?: If you are a player - be it in the draft or under free agency - why would you want to come...

I wouldn't like to see Cripps go. He's proven to be about a one-goal-a-game player (even as a sub) and his skills look good. Very promising I reckon and it would be a shame to let him go.

Not that keen on him, but he'd provide more than Wilkes (considering we are talking about mediocre offcuts from other clubs) IMO albeit in different positions.

Re: Brownlow votes + age profile
Goddard would be in the medium group. He only turned 27 a few months ago, I think people on here want him to be older than he really is though so it doesn't hurt as much if he leaves.
Age wise, he's approaching or perhaps not even at his peak which convention says is 27-29 for AFL footballers.

Yeah it's funny isn't it. People used to sing the praises of John Beveridge when he was in charge of recruiting, now they say that 2002-03 onwards was a write-off.clarky449 wrote:He is good until he leaves the cub, then he has no idea.

Re: Saints official delistings
Raph is treated pretty unfairly on here I reckon. He's no Sam Fisher, but I think he's a fairly decent half back flanker - probably who has been one step away, for his whole career, from being a starting 18 player.
