Re: Marchbank & Ahern

What is the contract status of these two... who are not getting a game, yet were drafted two years ago as FRDPs Marchbank is that 3rd tall we need to replace Sean Ahern is another to add to the middle who can use it well out of 2013 that would give us 3 - Billings, 10 - Freeman, 18 - Dunstan, 19 - ...

Will Billings be our Judd

I remember many a moon ago hearing Tom Harley talking about a heart to heart they had with Ablett after his first couple of years where the leadership group put it on Gaz to be Geelongs Judd. So, I'm wondering whether it is time to have a similar convo with Billings in relation to The Bont. Just a t...

Yes. Ch7 replay Agreed with comment about Billings, he got a lot of soft ball, used it well.... But often had no opponent. McKenzie, goes real hard!!! Sinclair has Poise... Eli is a gut runner... OKearney a ball magnet .... White good overhead, and a bullet kick... Leonie has pace around the footy....

Re: Dylan

Can you give us an insight into why Acres was dropped, and then not played at all this week? Seems a horrible waste There are a few reasons why he was dropped. The main one is simple......just hasn't got a big enough tank yet so doesn't work hard enough when he hasn't got the ball. Bit like Seb las...

Positives

Obviously not that many, but I thought Hickey had a great game. Mumford was largely ineffective. Hickey beat him in the contest jumping over him and i thought was better around the ground, taking a couple of grabs. Not the in and under ruckman than Mumford is, but i thought he did well. Ross continu...

Re: 2018 Line up. Good enough for a flag?

I personally would like to see Membrey develop into a tough mid size forward who can make his way into that team. Also a spot for Heppell would be nice Agreed Fugazi, I think Membrey will be a very handy footballer... reads the game well, has good agility and works well up and down the ground. Has ...

Re: The three ins

Anyone else think Lee looks a lot bigger. I saw him in a preseason game and he looked same as last i saw him, but yesterday he looked a lot bigger. I had him penciled in as back up for a Roberton type, but maybe he might fill the whole left by Fisher. Worth persisting with When Fish and Sean Dempst...

Re: On the bright side....

Love the attitude, so proud, so very very proud. And totally woke the neighbours when paddy launched in the final quarter. But, am equally proud that Richo found it unacceptable, I love the ethos that he is instilling in the group. Luke Hodge's comments after the game praising us were also noteworth...

Re: Jarryn Geary is a list clogger

Really interesting Richo's press conference after the game, basically talked about how much we missed Geary in the last with his run. I think he is more important to us than a lot recognise. And as another poster mentioned, where was Cyril.

Re: I think Minch has made it.

Of the small forwards, in order, Sinclair's the one I have most confidence in. Lonie I think is brilliant, but a little off the boil right now. Then Minch. Isn't getting enough of the ball, but looks all class when he does. Exciting possibilities. Gresham will make it for sure, but maybe not just y...

Re: I think Minch has made it.

I hope so, but similar to last week his decision making at times lets him down. By foot he generally picks the right option, but his hands in close need to improve. A couple of times last week and this week he has handpassed in close to someone under more pressure than himself. This will become less...

Re: Sinclair

I find it really hard to hide my excitement about what Sinclair could be. His balance, composure and vision is already close to elite. If he can combine his low centre of gravity with a genuine hunger for the contest then i think we potentially have a steal of the century. I see him in a similar lig...

Re: Freeman has pinged a hammy again. (INCORRECT)

No mixed messages. His hammy is pretty good but he's basically doing his pre season again. If you look further back you'll notice I said we wouldn't see him for some time. Adam confirmed this. We just have to hope for no more setbacks. Full on training session tomorrow. Quality bloke by the way. Dm...

Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos

The good: Ross has stepped up and really enjoyed watching him, he is clean and makes good decisions given than his possesions are really contested, has the split second extra which he will only use better as he gets more experience. Greshman will be a player. A couple of things he did really stood o...

Paddy's endurance

Heard this week - cant remember where - that Paddy's endurance was matching that of Bruce in preseason. If that is true, it would be a massive improvement and a great sign of his professionalism etc. Really exciting stuff. Anyone heard anything on this, or who else is tearing it up? Tony74 any gos?

I'm a little unsure with regards to both him and Dean... How many running backs do we need? Roberton, Webster, Savage, Acres, Gilbert... Both of these guys too. Hopefully White can become a genuine mid I think in the next few years we'll see Webster acres and gilbert running through the middle more...

Agree completely, the Dees look like they have a list chock full of talent. Lets just hope that they do what they have seemed to do over the last 5 years and they fail to develop. But yeah, that is on paper (and so far only on paper) a very talented young list. But I remember when we were rising wit...

Re: Daniel McKenzie and others under the radar

Yeah Im a big rap for Sinclair as well, he is so clean with his hands and has a great nose for goal. He is a smart little bugger as well, usually finds the right options. I am mindful of second year blues with both him and McKenzie, but I am bullish about both. And, yeah Acres was another that had s...
