Re: R16 Q3 26:57 StK 19.8 122 Rich 3.9 27

The microwaving of the memberships folks...... That is all I heard in the week after that game. Whinging, whining, bitter complaining Richmond supporters. And guess what - it works. If the way that the team plays is not good enough for their supporters, Ninthmond hear about it - and hear about it -...

One bloke near us was booing with about 30 people including his mates looking at him and shaking their heads.

Disappointing that we have to wait, but awesome that we will have a team. Hopefully there will be some equalisation measures in place so we can compete with the established teams.

Re: Saints fans in MCC members.

In response to the original post, I am thinking of heading in about 7ish. If the queues for the previous finals rounds are anything to go by it will be very busy. I am very lucky in that I get to go to every grand final, and every final at the G. I also go to about 15-20 games a year where the saint...

Isn't it awesome how we can take an article with empirical evidence showing one of our players is one of the quickest in the comp and turn it into a negative thread.

Re: Carlton's AFLW team lesbian-free......just in case!

http://cfcblu.es/StatementSep20 Glad they got a women's side and sticking up for approx 80% of their own team, whilst St Kilda, who pioneered the Pride games well before any survey forms were mailed out and activily say "yes" missed out. Great stuff. The AFL is only endorsing "yes&qu...

Re: How's that great deal looking now?

I am not sure of the logic being used when evaluating the deal as a loss. The OP says that we will stuff up this years pick 7 because our recruiting dept is no good, yet we would have nailed pick 10 last year with the same recruiting dept? There is absolutely no way anyone could evaluate that deal a...

Re: Saints look to lock in Paddy

DJ, have you watched Paddy play footy? He has shown plenty. Not sure who we could get as good as him for the price we are hopefully paying. His problem isn't ability, it is him staying on the park. Hopefully this indicates the medicos think he is fine and he can get a good run of games going. He wil...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 19 2017

Incredible effort to get back in that in the last quarter. Ports 2nd last goal was very unlucky for us. Took some absolute brilliance in the end from 2 incredible players. 22 blokes out there showed significantly more heart for the saints than quite a few ordinary "supporters" on here.

Interesting statement from Richo on 360 tonight. Talking about when we were down with 2 minutes to go and Gears was on the bench. They dragged brown because he was the closest player, it was that important that they had gears on the ground. He said we needed our captain on the ground because he was ...

Re: Jack Billings

What puzzles me about Jack's goal kicking, is that it seemed quite good at first and has steadily deteriorated. 4.12 this year from a player of his undoubted ability and class smacks of a lack of confidence. He's even laid off a couple inside 50 this year, when he was in a good position himself. Gi...

A mate who follows another side arrived late on Sunday, about half way through the second quarter, and just as he sat down and looked up a saints player drilled a 30mtr pass with pin point accuracy to another Saint on the boundary line. He said geez that was a great pass. The kicker was J Geary. Hi...

Re: Have Our Supporters Become the Softest in Victoria?

I went to the saints game, and the tigers v dees. Having two games scheduled at the same time in Melbourne doesn't help (Hawks at the g started an hour after us). Plenty of neutral supporters at the g on Anzac eve, where as we would have stuff all neutrals on a Sunday arvo in the middle of a pseudo ...

Re: Last in 'Assists'

So we have 49 goals but only 22 goal assists? How does that even work, 25 goals from direct turnovers with no other player involved? Adelaide have 77 goals from 56 "goal assists" We've probably missed 20 or more easy goals which doesn't help the assist stat much. Can you have two assists ...

I get assists being a worthwhile stat from an individual player point of view, but as a team stat isn't it pretty pointless? Except for goals from direct turnovers or from ruck contests, just about every goal would be from an assist.

Sounds like an appointment of "women in AFL", the AFL is pushing this angle hard. You do know that women can get jobs off the back of their own hard work and talent, right? I don't object to any man, woman, cat, dog doing better for themselves. As Barassi said "If it's meant to be, i...

Re: Sinclair wins time trial

I am not sure if it still holds true, but the general calculation used to be for every week of no exercise, it takes around four weeks to regain the lost fitness. So if the players were to spend six weeks with no exercise, it would take nearly six months to get back to a similar level of fitness. N...
