I remember back to Plympton saying how great it was having the Saints playing home at AFL park Waverley with all the future benefits. He changed his tune quickly, but that and AFL park are history now. I've got no doubt our past and present and future presidents are loyal Saint supporters who ultima...

In hindsight, maybe now is a good time for RB to step aside. I think he and GT were part of an era which was good for a while but then crumbled badly and personally, and although RB has done a lot of good stuff, that era may have passed.

If some of these guys have attitude issues, you get rid of them..tolerating "attitude players" held back this club for years. Go out and recruit young team-orientated players, on-field leaders, as they are the types you can build a flag team from, not the hot and cold dickheads who let us ...

I'm curious as to how people are basing anything around Gardiner - I doubt whether his foot problems will let him play more than a handful of games at any time in the future, same scenario as Hamill with his ongoing problems...their best days are gone. I would be looking at another young ruckman som...

Jones did very well over in the west, so it would have been silly not to grab him. He has had one year with us, and just as he was showing good form had a serious injury to inerrupt it for a number of weeks...not the kind of injury you bounce back from in a hurry. I think with an uninterrupted pre-s...

Simple, you want to build a team to win a flag then rather than talk axe, talk rebuilding, and some will come and some will go. A big issue is recurring injury-prone players who won't generally contribute the full season and lead to team unbalance, so RL will need to look at some on the list. Streng...

Well you don't win flags with injury-prone players and we have a few too many of those. RL will know that we need to recruit or trade to get more goal-kicking power and more grunt around the packs and centre clearances. Good rucks don't grow on trees, so who knows what will happen there as we do nee...

I think there is a freak-elite, they are the guys who can swing a match in their team's favour in a quarter. The freaks who kick 4 goals in quarter, or do nothing all day then set up or kick goals in the last 10 mins of a match. They are the guys who get you over the line in must-win matches. Here's...

Reiwoldt is the only current elite player we have.. I'm not looking at past form of players, and some of our guys are very good on their day, but not the champs some make them out to be. A few of the younger brigade especially Gram, SFisher, Gilbert will improve again next year.

There's winners and losers, whether you deserve it or not. The best team won the flag in '66. When you look at that team, we were balanced across most lines..Bob Murray at FB in great form, Cowboy Neale kicking goals, Moran with penetrating kicking on the run, Synman across HB, Baldock on wobbly kne...

What to do with Dal

I'm a bit worried about how NDS is progressing - great skills but after a few seasons, has still not learnt the art of breaking taggers and is tagged out of so many important games..seems a real one-paced player who doesn't lift when needed. Once tagged, he is a goner in our engine room. I would put...

All I can say is lets see what develops over summer with RL and his coaches settling in after the first year and with the players geting used to his style. I'm sure the fitness conditioning thing is very high on the priorities.

I notice Geelong lose a couple of key players and lose the game- it's not necessarily all about fitness. Quality of players is a important -if you have a team of 18 superfit athletes who are ordinary footballers, you won't win many games, you need a balance of quality, fitness and of course, luck wi...

Consistant form from individuals and the team wins games and premierships, no up and down, one week hot, one week cold stuff. Presuming we won't crack the flag this season, I expect RL will keep those who he reckons he can build a premiership team with.

Sympathy to J. Attard. But players like Gehrig are not helping the cause unless they produce under pressure in must-win games, same goes for Milne. Retire Gehrig and delist Milne. M Clarke is past it, and X Clarke for all his skill will never play out a full season due to chronic injury problems and...

Our list has deficiencies, though in 2004 we got on a run and gained confidence, but the Prelim against Port showed our deficencies which I think are still there. It means that when a player such as Baker gives his view of the "incident" he is deemed to be lying by the AFL. Clearly a premeditated outcome regardless of how much evidence was given.

The more the AFL brings down this kind of outcome, the deeper a credibility hole they dig for themselves. Usually in a legal system its innocent until proven guilty, but in AFL land it's guilty and that's that or if it's an infringment against a ST.Kilda player, especially head-high tackles and deli...
