Re: BT - Brian Taylor

We should start a thread on dumb footballers who for some reason are allowed to become dumb football commentators. The one commentator who has me diving for the mute button when the Saints are playing is the one & only Brian Taylor 'B.T'. Look he is probably a good guy but he shouldn't be allow...

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch

Would be funny to swap it back for jaeger!! Speaking of which, he's again not selected this week. Very expensive car to have sitting in the garage not being used. How is Freeman going? He's played as many games as the kid Collingwood got with the pick we traded for him. But we can pretend we sold t...

Re: Saints targeting Whitfield?

I still come down to the fact that Carlisles clock is ticking at 26. Hes' in his peak and we want to maximise our flag chances with him (while still feeding strong young blood in to keep us up for a while - tricky balancing act). Whitfield is the perfect age/experience to give us that class outside...

i don't think you can rookie list a DFA. i think you can only get to the rookie list via the rookie draft (unless you are one of those international category B? rookies).

I'd like to keep both 1st rounders, but you entertain offers and can land big fish.

Oshea is 25 before next season, so not a kid. He looks ok and ticks some boxes, but rather rookie if we can.

Would be OK as a rookie.

I'd like to see us pick 3 18yo kids in the draft.

11-13 wins. As long as we finish above Collingwood.

This run looks a bit overly optimistic. 4 wins from those 6 would be a very good result.

Re: Picks 23 and 36

No short arses. The future is not smaller players. Think of the Bont ahead of the Bill, etc. Bulldogs have a heap of smaller players and they kill it - Libba, Hunter for example. We have some bigger bidies now would be happy to take a smaller mid if they have the speed and skill attributes we need....

How did Hawthorn get away with giving their 2017 second rounder to Gold Coast instead of that from GWS via Carlton. From AFL Indicative Draft "If a club trades a future first-round selection, it may not trade any other future selections from the same draft. However if a club retains its future...

Re: Hit rate within draft ranges

I feel like Saints fans valuation of picks goes like this: Saints second round given up for Freeman who's only managed a few very average VFL games "Very low chance of getting anyone decent with that pick anyway so well worth the risk. Very average draft year anyway outside the top 8. Didn't l...

I assumed he meant one of the rookies to be upgraded, but not sure who he meant by "Blake". The word is Holmes.

Both kennedys for the right price, but I would expect others to pay more than we would be prepared to based on needs. Yeah but imagine the problem of having two Josh Kennedy's in the same team. Opposition players: Who is on Josh Kennedy, I am, no I am, coach who is on Josh Kennedy. You are on Josh ...

Re: How does the draft bidding system work?

They match bids on their academy players if made by other clubs. They would never pick their own academy players until they start running out of list spots (they'll take their academy players as late as possible so that they can draft others they want, as they can trump someone else's attempt to dra...
