Re: Is this midfield good enough
No, I don't think our round 1 midfield is better than Melbourne's. But the game may well be won in other areas. Will we be able to pressure the Dees and make them turn the ball over? They've shown in the pre-season how they're going to try and control possession and dictate the tempo of a game. Last...

Purely going off the NAB Challenge games, I reckon these guys are "firing": Hickey, Dunstan, Wright, Webster, Clint Jones.

Re: Coach Richo gives a bit of team assesment- article
Rich summed up things pretty well. It's obvious that, physically, Jack Billings is playing catch-up; he had a very interrupted pre-season and was also injured for chunks of the TAC Cup season. Surely they'll be very cautious with him this year. It made me laugh that they named Roberton as one of our...

More importantly, we have much less upside and quality than GWS and GCS.bobmurray wrote:We need good draft picks,we have made so many list changes we are now less experienced in comparison to GWS and the GCS.
And we are a draft or two behind the Bulldogs.

Re: New CEO
I don't agree that he was absolutely useless but I have wondered for while now if AFL clubs are a little top heavy in executive management especially when you consider the relatively small turnover the clubs manage and the small amount of staff they manage. How can anyone argue that Nettlefold wasn...

Re: The good, the bad and the future!
- Maister is a goer up forward if he can learn to create some distance with his opponent in marking contests he will become a very handy tall forward. For me is a much better option as the forward - back up ruckman than Stanley could ever hope to be. Maister showed what he has always showed up forw...

Re: Stanley
You can't write off Stanley on the back of the Bulldogs game - most 200cm players are going to struggle big time when the ball is like a piece of soap and it's sopping wet under foot. I'm as frustrated about Rhys as anyone. Like a few people on here have said, I reckon he just isn't that good at foo...

Re: New CEO
Good point however there is a strong smell of the board not rushing this one coupled with a shortage of good candidates. Another simple question - have we even advertised the position? For instance has an ad been placed in a Friday AFR? If not it proves we aren't actually looking. I think it's pret...

Take the ANZAC weekend Consider two games Ess v Coll and say North v Bulldogs Coll vs Ess played as blockbuster on MCG on the day will get 90,000 Coll vs Ess played as a normal game on that weekend (i.e. not on ANZAC day) will get 65,000 at MCG or 50,000 at Docklands Nth vs Bulldogs played as a blo...

Re: If I was Pelchen, at the end of 2014.....
What do you think the other clubs would offer for them?? Me personally, I would expect a pick between 20 to 30 for Gilbert, 18 to 25 for Armitage, 30 to 40 for Ray. I think that's very wishful thinking. RAY: I think there would be very little interest. Maybe Melbourne, Giants or Suns would be inter...

We all know why we are there and we all know the sooner we can return full time to Moorabbin the better. Why are we there? Because Topsy Peachy said:"Coucil says NO!" To the Saints redeveloping Moorabbin back about 5 years ago! Sorry, but if we decided to completely move the Club's base -...

Re: Simpkin and Siposs
Personally, I don't think it matters so much as what position he is playing he needs to get much, much more fit. Too many times last year he would just look spent so quickly; he can't work hard enough when we have the ball and when we don't have it. If he doesn't build his tank, his work-rate and hi...

Re: Hun's ladder after Round 5 ... Not so depressing as som
Im not looking past round 1. If we lose round 1 (which is very possible) we will be chasing ass from the get-go. Last year - our season was effectively over after round 1. If we can win round 1 - hopefully we sell some memberships in the first week or 2. So you bought that tripe from Summers that o...

I think we need to evaluate the side one year at a time before making bold forecasts and predictions for the team 3 years down the track. The trade/draft period was definitely encouraging and pleasing for the fans; we managed to cover a lot of bases (strengthened draft picks/position, traded for def...

Re: 2011 Process
Don't forget Richardson was pipped by both Watters AND Hinkley in the 2011 Process. That particular process won't go down in history as any sort of "model" process. I'm not saying it's been dwarfed by the latest process either, although this latest one did find Richmond's offerings lackin...

Re: Who will be our new assistant coaches?
Assistants at other clubs are already contracted which means you can't poach them to fulfill the same role at your club.
I'd say the coaching staff is set - kingsley, mcphee, sexton etc. That's all folks.
