Re: Mass exodus

Source? FWIW, here is my opinion: Gresham - yes, let him go and hope we get a 2nd round pick via free agency. Clark - must keep him. fits our young core profile. Billings- keep him. has no trade value, would be cheap to keep, good depth, let him finish as a 1 club player. Coffield - must keep him. ...

Re: Three St Kilda Academy Players on AFL 360

Why do we have a restriction on a NGA when the interstate clubs don't no incentive another situation were we get screwed.
Is the club addressing the problem with the AFL really hope they are.
We get no father sons so this is the only way we can look to get a even break.

Re: Meh to the Sharman doubters.

I like cooper and has a lot of potential but he needs to know about working hard in AFL He is soft when it comes to tackles we was watching as Caminiti and Poo were all over players and they are kids, Sharman was a spectator he wasn't the only one but talk about bruise free footy. Well he is still i...

Re: Ross, Membrey in. Caminiti out.

How is Sharman still in after last week every time he got close to a contest he would not tackle and couldn't hold his marks.
At least caminiti will tackle and puts in and do some ruck work Sharman is a passenger.

Re: Sandringham

Adams doesn't really have the physique to play as a key back. He's built similarly to Nick Blakey. In fact, he reminds me a lot of a guy who used to play for us in the early 1990s called Tim Elliot, who was a kind of defender/back up ruck. He does some good things, but he has his fair share of howl...

Check out the big O Oscar Adams he has been getting a great write up from batch each week exciting prospect still only 19 and big unit at 198cm Still has a bit to go but will be pushing for a sport next season especially if like I hear clubs are looking at Dougal or a cheaper Battle next season if w...

Re: Did Our Backline Look Better W/O Howard?

IMHO, whatever his faults, Howard is very important for our structure down back and until we have an alternative 200cm defender he is always going to play. I thought Battle didn't have a great game (defensively) and I attribute that to us being 1 tall defender short. Jimmy had a nightmare game agai...

Re: Did Our Backline Look Better W/O Howard?

well if he does not play who do we have to take Charlie Curnow? Not a great match up for either Battle or Wilkie. Cordy he has played as KPD for over 100 games and this is the exact reason we got him if Dougal or battle go down like last season. He has more size then Battle and is able to read the ...

Re: Did Our Backline Look Better W/O Howard?

Nope. Webster was found out a bit by Breust...He was the only forward looking remotely dangerous for them. That would have been Wilkie and Howard would have played on Lewis. Surprised that Cordy didn't go to Lewis and move Wilkie on to Breust. Yes I was think ng the same about Cordy he will have to...

Re: Meh to the Sharman doubters.

Do we know if Sharman will be ok for next week due to his hammy problem.
If king is back next week with Sharman king will get the no1 defender witch would really help Sharman and Caminiti

Love the hammer he is just such a hard worker with a pre season under his belt he could be anything. Any news On Sharman and if he is ok with the hammy we really need him next week especially if king is back. Also I would move Cordy to his rightful position of KPD now that Dougal is out with Carlton...

If they get Hardwick we might find it hard to lure Bing away but with his form the way it is he might actually get dropped this week

We need to trade some good players to get draft picks.

I would trade Battle we have other players who can play his role in Cordy and a few young guys like Adams who is doing well at sandy and is 198cm,and Sharman who I rate more as a forward but can go back. Battle really struggles against the bigger taller players if gets isolated and does not have the...

Re: In for next week against Rooboys - Four at least

From what I could ascertain yesterday, Wilkie had King (conceding 14cms and 10kgs, King with 12 disposals and 3 marks), Howard had Casbault (size match up and Casbault kept to 3 disposals and 0 marks) and Battle had Lukosius (size match up and Lukosius with 4 goals from 10 disposals and 6 marks) So...

Re: In for next week against Rooboys - Four at least

I am not sure about Heath at this stage, but I would definitely play Highmore ahead of Howard. Bytel ahead of a clearly injured duo of Jones and Wood. And Campbell/Hayes on the bench. Take your pick. Yes I would also play Higgins ahead of Peris. Clark is already in the side. Does any one watch High...

Re: In for next week against Rooboys - Four at least

Don't see Bytel solving the issues we have, he has the same problem- ball use and speed. Higgins, Hayes and Heath all coming into the side allows Owens to spend more time on the ball meaning all of the below offer more to our onball options than Bytel. Steele Crouch Clark Jones Owens Windhager Sinc...

Given availability, Battle, Hill, Higgins and Clark are certainties So what does that do to structure given King and Cordy out? Re: What changes would you make for next week?

I would finally bring in Campbell as a forward ruck a bit like what cordy did expect he is a big unit and would be more imposing. Not really sure we need another young guy like Heath in yet he is playing well at Sandy but I really think he would struggle at this point. Clark should come in and I wou...

Re: What changes would you make for next week?

King, Ross and Cordy are forced outs. A few have suggested Pou is due a rest. Byrnes was the sub but pbly played himself into contention rather than out of… Caminati and Sharman are pbly the other 2 that get some scrutiny from the fans here but arguably did well enough. By all accounts Battle, Clar...
