It was revealed on "Talking Football" last night that Ross Lyons coaching record since round 19 is none too flash.

Out of Fremantle's last 90 games, they have won only a third, 33%. That is 60 losses and only 30 wins.

All coached by Ross, I might add.

I hear that the only reason that the Dockers don't sack him now is they would be facing a devastating , to them, payout of over 1 million dollars.

Stay away from this guy, sainters, he has a proven record of failure and once again he would be leaving a club in dire straights, if he were to walk at seasons end.

I read a thread on Saintsational from 2007 for a shitstir and the same things that posters were complaining about back then are the same things that Freo supporters are complaing about NOW!!

With both St Kilda and Fremantle the foundations and the blueprint had already been established before he walked in the door. We played off in two consecutive prelims in 2004-2005 FFS. I give credit to our players for what they achieved in 2009/2010 and NOT to Ross. He failed in his role because he had the tools and the players to get the job done. He couldn't get the best out of them when it mattered most in the finals

As far as the win loss in the last 3 years I'm not sure that's the sole reason to exclude him. Understandable when you are in rebuild mode. Ross Lyon teams have generally been pisspoor at scoring but this year with Freo looking like they were finals bound, his team had a match where they could only score 2 goals in four quarters of football. Something very wrong there.

Main reason I don't want him however, is becasue I think he's a shyte bloke

He did get us closer than anyone since 66 though I guess...but he had around 10 A graders and plenty of onfield leaders.

I just hate how he did a runner to Freo. Bit soft IMO plus he did it for financial reasons due to s*** decision making in his personal financial life.

I was actually not wholly truthful on the cars and their colours though.

I actually have two red cars as well as the white one and the black RX8. The missus also has a little black coupe.

My youngest currently has the other red one, an old commodore but I did purposely buy a white car to complete the set, which was my latest and probably final purchase.

The original red one I have had for 50 years. Will never sell it as it is a GTS Monaro. Worth a bit these days too.

The RX 8 is the 40 year anniversary model and another car I wouldn't part with.

Has anyone coached more games than he has without ever winning a flag? Rodney Eade maybe? I have to admit I was a fan when he was in charge but I always said he never allowed us to play to our strengths and he lost me completely the way he left us stranded. May he never cast a shadow over Moorabbin again.

Is your problem with Lyon the fact that he walked? Or don't you really rate him as a Coach? Our 2009/2010 seasons were incredible for different reasons, alas we didn't get the prize. I see no reason to blame Lyon for that. Sure, I agree he stuffed up with Ball in the 2009GF, maybe should've been willing to make more changes and expose more of his squad, i.e. Armitage and Steven. However, he didn't have Gehrig, Hamill, A Jones, Black, Penny, Thompson, Peckett and of course Harvey. GT did and couldn't get us to the dance. He wanted Cousins but the Club overruled him.

A mate of mine is friendly with Stan Alves. They had lunch one day in either 2009 or 2010, I cannot remember. Alves was heralding Lyon a genius, he wrote down 8 names in our best 22 at the time and suggested that they wouldn't get a game at many other Clubs, yet under Lyon our team was dominant. Alves suggested Lyon's work was miraculous! High praise from a former Coach who wasn't too bad himself.
