He returned to Dublin, Bombers contacted him and said they were bemused as to why he got cut by us.

Ray reckons he had asked Richo several times
during the year, about why he wasn't in the frame for seniors, and
'the answers got more and more vague as the year went on'
and Ray knew '5 weeks from end of season' that his papers were stamped.

Look, AR fanbois will say 'ahh Sour Grapes' and 'he's lying'
but AR has a 'strong' history of vagueness, and there's enough anecdotal evidence that says the Irishman is probably being 100% truthful.

funny, there's a lot of Essendon supporters that are bemused as to why Nick Hind is playing for us this year and not for Essendon. AND Connellan is playing for their VFL team he wasn't even rookie listed by them, if they were so shocked why didn't they give him a gig on their list? Probably because he aint up to it

My intention was to highlight the 'vagueness' which
IN MY OPINION appears to be a constant theme with our coach.

I don't profess to know why certain guys keep the faith (ie Weller) and others don't get a look in.
My concern is communication.

He seems to avoid the hard questions.
The fact that he was stunned by some honesty only
when shown some written comments, over in Columbia Uni in the USA, appears to indicate that EOS interviews
and club feedback weren't listened to properly?

Maybe Ratts and Lade can show honesty to the squad?

I've worked under a wide range of managers over the years; some are fantastic communicators, while several (including my current one) just do NOT listen, and I have to give feedback to the second-in-charge.
I hope the 6 day uni leadership course has given AR new insights, vision and clarity.

Went to a VFL game last year and this guy was so far off the standard it's not funny. Couldn't get near the ball. I gather he kicked a couple of flashy goals over the year - good for him, but AFL football is about more than that.

Hickey was not delisted, and is still playing first ruck for a top 8 team.

An incredible journey has come to an end! Thanks everyone at @essendonvfl @sandyzebs and @stkildafc for the experience! Difficult decision to call it a day and come home but I feel it was the right time. I’ve loved every second of my Aussie Rules adventure and thank you to everyone who made Australia a home away from home over the last few years..
