Drop him now so we never have to watch someone disrespect the jumper like him ever again.

Should be the first one on his ass come closing interviews.

His mate Billings not far behind.

After tonight, I finally agree with this. All 3 of them. Time to call it a bad 3-year draft period of high picks (in addition to Newnes' continued propping up) and get for them something of value. I'd be hard chasing Gaff and Hannebury and I'd be looking to get Lukocious - whatever it takes; even if we need to clean 10 players out and offer 10 year deals

Yep some of the efforts of a few were pathetic. Especially in that third quarter.

Thankfully I wasn't able to see the game - can anyone give some examples of these pathetic efforts?

Newnes is a cardboard cut-out does nothing to inspire waits for the easy ball he's on thin ice

Had 5 tackles, which would suggest otherwise, but I agree that he was poor.

His direct opponent had 42 possessions running off half back, enough said

And gave away an equal amount of free kicks.

Think he will get traded out.
Along with possibly Weller, Lonie, Dunstan and a couple of others. Not sure if we will see either Hickey or Longer at the Saints next year too.

The main thing is we don't replace those that go with a fresh set of spuds.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Have to ask how he's gone backwards so far from 2016? He was primed to become elite but has instead become very average

Correct, he wasnt a bad player in 2016 and on the up but something has gone wrong. Weller had a good year then too and he has dropped off bigtime as well. Quite annoying actually because we were relying on those 2 as senior players to take up some of the slack with new recruits coming in. Newnes is probably the type to go well at another club.

To be fair, Weller badly damaged his ankle in 2017 (yet, either selfishly played through it or was made to play through it). Never recovered (also tweaked it late in JLT1 against Carltoon).

Have no idea what’s happened to Newnes. Is a mere shadow of his former self.

Is played in the wrong position, another coaching blunder.
He is a half back flanker only, and a very good one.

I thought he played there a bit on Saturday and has also throughout the year.

Didn't get near half back.
The only time he has been there was last quarter v Suns this year.

The only thing Newnes is any good at , is being a very poor player. If he is not delisted, (amongst others) there club will continue to suffer the same fate.

He sadly hasn’t looked the same player since he got knocked out against Sydney last year.

The only established player that gets dropped for this week against the Bummers is Dunny

Really f****** brave of the coach and his selection committee. Seriously!! What have you got to lose??

Why not leave the youngsters in the team and drop some more of the senior players like Newnes, Savage, or Brown.

I would also love to see Gresham get dropped just once this year. If he doesn't do the team thing and burns one of his team mates again it won't surprise anyone because Richo has failed to instill the coreect behaviours in these blokes. Make a f****** statement for once in your life Richo
