According to a report at the Zebs game against Essendon, Sammy Fisher has done his hammy again. Surely this puts his future in doubt as he is about to turn 32.
Really sad end to a club warrior. We could really have done with him now that's for sure. Going to be difficult for us for the rest of the season without him, Gilbert, Wright, Hickey, Geary, Eli, as well as Armitage who will probably not return this week either.

His body is cooked and has been for a few years now (thats according to the man himself).
I sadly concur Con. Roberton, Simpkin, Bruce and Delaney need to play in the seniors every week, with Gwilt and Dempster the marshallers of the troops. Looks like Gilbert won't get back anytime soon so we need to look to the future.
I'm sure now this is his last year, but I'd much rather he was playing it out. It would be a terrible way for a magnificent servant of our footy club to go out.

But played it hard on field and off....
Think this was always going to be his last season in any case.
According to Facebook, Fisher felt tightness in his hamstring. Hopefully that's all it was. Even a best case scenario would mean he's not playing for the Saints next week.

He did it within opening 5-8 minutes, happened in front of me. Didnt look good, called to bench straight away but stayed out there for little bit cos no rotation was ready to come on!
A 145 point drubbing is enough to cause any player not to want to rush back into the team.

Sorely missed
Was rock solid for so long
2012 we could have won more games as the fisher led backline held up pretty well , but after he got injured , it suffered from loss of his leadership .
2013 he only played 9 games and was not right for most of them . the backline was average .
This year its been a liitle better because of list rejuvenation , but wolud be better with him in the team
Hopefully he can have a crack at it after the bye !
