Lots of injuries?

Post: # 1429232Post bergholt »

This article doesn't exactly paint a rosy picture:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/s ... 6805305382

According to this and the saints.com.au injury list, all of these players have had interrupted preseasons so far because of injury:

Jack Billings (quad)
Luke Delaney (hip)
James Gwilt (knee)
Tom Lee (shoulder)
Daniel Markworth (knee)
Jack Newnes (shoulder)
Lewis Pierce (back)
Nick Riewoldt (?)
Dylan Roberton (ankle)
Tom Simpkin (shin)
Aaryn Siposs (shoulder)
Rhys Stanley (hip/shoulder)
Nathan Wright (shin)

Is that usual for this time of year? That's almost a third of the senior list who've had injuries or not been able to do every session. Most of them aren't exactly veterans either. Are we going to have a year full of underdone players and injuries?

To give it some context Melbourne have been missing their best 3 key forwards because of small injuries the past 3 weeks.

Tanking already?

Lance or James??

The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Most of the list below had surgery at the end of last season so they are on modified programs, almost all of them are back training with the main group, according to Richo we have 35 players all with the main group and the rest completing rehab
Its still 2 months from the real stuff so there is plenty of time to get the remaining guys right.

For the short time I was there today, Gwilt, Simpkin and Wright seemed to be in full training. Lee, Markworth, Riewoldt, Siposs and Stanley were running laps or doing drills.

Roberton, Delaney, Markworth, Newnes also seemed to be involved in drills and match simulation. Markworth did some individual running so didn't do everything but def was in some of the match simulation stuff
Lee was running laps, not sure if he did any drills

Fisher and Billings were doing laps together at the start of the session. Roo was doing running work on the boundary also

Funnily enough I saw Gwilt at the Highett public pool (Waves) last Thursday. At the time I thought he must have been on some rehab program.

It is still only mid-January. The problems come if they injure themselves now, not two months ago. Adelaide must be spewing about Van Berlo

Plus I think it was pretty hot.
