Sandy/St Kilda Alignment Update
Negotiations between Sandringham and St Kilda are continuing in regards to the new alignment agreement between the two clubs for the 2014- 2015 seasons, the current agreement expires at the end of October.
The new agreement will be subject to some new conditions regarding a minimum number of Sandringham players in the team and team selection.
Members from the Sandringham and St Kilda hierarchies met late last month and an agreement is expected to be reached in the near future.
from most recent edition of the sandy newsletter.

Why sign up for another 2 years, under sandy's conditions, why aren't we pushing to field a stand alone VFL side.

What sort of player development is that where the VFL club dictates what goes on at the VFL club.

Lucky we've got the Academy. How is the Academy going BTW...

because we Do Not have the Money or a ground to play on....

if you have some well heeled friends who would like to donate to a 140 year old Football club to the tune of several million per year - they would proabably name the change room after them

I wouldn't call the Bulldogs a club with money, they are going stand alone in 2014, are the AFL paying for that as well.

they virtually have to their VFL aligned club so no more to the alignement,

a dn read somewhere the members are being asked to pay an extra $20 per membership.

given we can barely keep the memebrs we have how many would agree to giving more-- other than that I have no idea how they are funding it--- and they already have an oval. with facilities..
we have an oval but no facilities.

Where would you suggest a Saints VFL side would play?

Just a question

what would need to be done to Moorabbin to make it comparable to Casey.

A couple of dunny blocks, change rooms, what else

A grandstand would be handy, and the player facilities and dunnies don't come cheap and would take more than twelve months to achieve.

Are you putting up the money?

No

Why would i waste my hard earned on a playground for Prima donnas

You don't need a Grandstand, definitely need dunnies, maybe the AFL can chip in or maybe we can stay in a half baked alignment and get half baked returns, it's cheaper.

Yep..sandy have really buggered things up...Newnes...Curren...Webster..guess where they were playing before their AFL call up...we really stuffed up their development didn't we....

But don't let the truth get in the way of a good whinge Wayne

Makes me wonder sometimes if supporters actually see what is going on..

this one shows how far south the ground has moved- and the slight turn- with goals now being closer to the Grandstand to allow for the extra length

How about that, sandy really want to look after sandy players next year, they may even want them to play on AFL size grounds, too bad if a sandy player is from the AFL, he'll have to play in the 2's

Sanderingham team begin training Friday- or kore detailed planning anyway

Brendan Allen on SEN
confirmed that Watters and McPhee werent anything other than casual aquaintances..

Finey confused -calling them the Dragons instead of the Zebras

and saying players pulled out of Saints- incorrect out of sandy

Just as well that brendan is on top of it

New alignment includes
Player ratio
player time/ minutes

Redevelopment is well and truly underway with drainage going in over last couple days. Works are ahead of schedule and new turf is expected to be layed on December 3rd. @sandyzebs expect it to be ready play on late April.

Final meeting between 2 clubs today, will hopefully be 99% signed off on. Will be min 9 Zebras (8 plus 23rd man) selected each week. The Saints can request for extra Saints any given week and Zebs commettiee will consider it.

The new Saints coach will have NO control over the VFL side, unlike previous coach who was a dictator. Match selection committee will consist of 2 Saints people, 2 Zebra people and chairman will be Zebs representivitve to make any split decisions. Players will be picked on form.

Sounds great for Sandy but being a saints person does nothing for me. If the choice was Sandy playing the finals and our blokes not getting good game time or Sandy finishing bottom and out blokes getting good game time I would take the second option every time. Well I suppose in 2 seasons we will get the second option.
