Saad tests positive for something

Post: # 1368430Post Con Gorozidis »

The irony is frickin incredible.

There is a very decent chance we got cheated out of two flags by playing against players on gear in 09 and 10.

And then we get a guy banned.

Seriously we are so unlucky.

Willing to bet his blood sugar/insulin levels & everything else related would be so up and down due to his fasting for Ramadan.

He is having second year blues like a lot of the GWS guys and Carlton's small forwards did. I still thought he would be a gun long term. Terrible if it was accidental. I really feel for the guy he must be in a world of pain right now. The media won't mind nailing him to across and burning him to make up for the frustration in waiting for the essendon findings which never seem to resolve.

Except that if it is something that is in someway related to his culture/diet/fasting then they will in fact have to tread a bit lightly.

Tread lightly by pointing out the turbulent political climate in Egypt and 911 as reasons why they should throw the book at him- we are talking about the media here.

If he has been named, does that mean this is the third time he has tested positive? If so, sack him. If not, why the hell is it in the media.

It has nothing to do with 3 strikes. His name is in the media because someone told Caro. It wont be the AFL so its either someone connected with ASADA or the Saints or someone who knows Saad.

3 strikes is for recreational drugs not performance enhancing drugs.

A guy takes something, that is perfectly legal over the counter substance, just can't be taken prior to competition and is going to get a no leniency two year ban. Yet a club takes on a program to systematically secretly, off site to inject their players multiple times in order to gain an advantage with a substance that, at best not clear whether it is an approved substance or not, and the argument still goes on regarding what if any punishment the club or players involved.
If nothing happens to Essendon, and Saad gets the full whack, it proves that the s*** is stinking at AFL house.

I have no idea how people know the penalties already. By the way ASADA will appeal if the penalties are to light so if they dont then ASADA agree they are the correct penalties.
