What game plan do you think Watters is developing

Post: # 1354187Post Bluthy »

Anyone managed to get much of a handle on it so far?.

Obviously quite Malthouseish in going wide, hugging the boundary line. One poster mentioned a lot of switching of play in the back. Gwilt seems to get used a lot for this. Will need good kickers if that's the case going forward (different to Lyon) The coaches that go on to win premierships seem to develop a unique style for their team that takes a while for other clubs to full understand and then neutralise and/or copy. May take a while to get a real feel for Watters is doing when players are still developing/learning a system. Struggling to see what they are doing with the forward line.

He wasn't happy with how they held up play on the weekend instead of going quick....

acople times on tigers game we rebounded to a goal on inside 50 very quickley. I liked seeing that and hope we can build more that type play going forward. at times we played very well against Richmond.

He's trying to make a team of players who lack fitness and skill to play a game entirely dependant on fitness and skill. Our go-to backup play of forcing the ball to the boundary line and resetting doesn't work either since we can't win a clearance to save ourselves.
