Resting White? Seriously, he's 18 years old for God's sake and it's only round 5...

Either

a) he is injured

b) it is sports science out of control a la the Australian cricket rotation policy, or

c) he is being freshened up for Carlton this week

Sports science gone mad, huh? Given that our development focus is greater than ever before, and that the reason young kids take so long to pick up size is because they burn most of the gym gains off running around training and playing, did it cross your mind that maybe training and playing km's are being closely controlled to maximise mass gains in a set timeframe?

If this kid lives up to his potential I may also suffer some sort of wrist injury of a repetitive nature :P

If the kid is fit he should play IMO. As it turns out he is injured.

In general, though, I think there is a danger in letting these so-called "scientists" have too much sway. Look at the mess Dank has left at Essendon for example. Leave it to proper doctors.

I tend to agree with Rodney Hogg on the whole issue across every sport. The young Australian bowlers keep breaking down because they are not getting enough bowling.

I would prefer that they nurture young guys... Nothing to be gained by flogging blokes each week who don't have a solid fitness base except maybe osteitis pubis.

I don't think it's sports scientists making these calls, it would be a detailed program designed by an entire department.

Times change... They don't have a pie & a few cans after training anymore.

Is Wight's wrist something we should be concerned about long term? Seems to have had a few issues with it already.

Yes in Hoggs day they played 52 weeks per year like they do now. There is now no break, no off-season

* 20/20, One Day, 3-5 day "normal" cricket

* The good players play International, Sate, IPL, Club, overseas club...and Big Bash...

I mean they play so much, they cannot train properly.

According to thunda White is injured. That's fair enough, no problem with injured players not playing.

Zebs got as far down as 33 points in 3rd quarter but back to 14 and kicking with breeze in the last.

Ray and Ledger in best
TDL got a spray at 1/4 time and has been excellent since
Big Tom Hickey at Full Forward has 2 goals and playing well
