Our best midfielder in the first half of 2012. I expect him to have an excellent season and have no doubt he'll be considered A grade by the end of the year. I find some people's assessment of him rather harsh. He's a tenacious type who gives us real drive out of the stoppages.

Burkey was more tenacious than brilliant, I think Jack has a bit more X factor that Burke. If you could get the Burke output into Jack Steven he would be an A grader. He is probably going to get there anyway this year I suspect.

I don't rate him nearly as highly as some on here do, mainly due to his decision making.... And his short kicking.

Plays the game at 100mph.... And finds it easily, VG clearance player.... So he has upside.

But his mistakes are similar to Gilbert's ..... Costly

Good to sign him up so early. Has apparently had a great pre season from all reports. I expect that will help him run out the season. Was top 5 in the B&F at the half way mark but struggled in the later part of the season. He kicks well but his decision making is poor sometimes. Goes across ground to often when it is to risky. I would be thinking baring injury could finish in the top 5 in the B&F this year. We need the young guys to come on and I see the 3 being Jack, Ben and Armo and it would great if a couple could finish top 5 in the B&F.

He's played about 50 odd games so should be ready to roll. It's a bit of a harsh assessment considering the lack of games even if he is 22. Dal Santo is super clean and classy but he couldn't play the game with pace like Jack does. I think he will become an elite talent and I hope it's this season. Dangerfield was going about as well as Jack then exploded same goes for plenty of others like Dane Beams etc. Not all players play elite footy from game 1.

He was pretty restricted with OP early on if rumours are to be believed and is no longer as restricted. I think it's his and Armo's year and I will add Saad to that list. He will become an elite player I believe.

i think it's his composure not his skill- that said when you play, kicking with precision while running at pace is about the most difficult thing to do well. Composure gets better after about 50 to 70 games on average.

Well say Swan and Josh Kennedy at Sydney both slow starters- Jack is miles ahead of both those guys at the same number of games. Cotchin is a beauty but Zaharakis would be in a very similar position to Steven- both scored a few goals early but are not quite elite mids yet. Dangerfield was similar to Jack- looked good but just off a grade, something happened before last season and he came out and played like he belonged at the top of the game. I hope Jack has that penny drop for him.

I don't think anyone had any reason to believe Dangerfield was going to be anything but A Grade

Adelaide clearly knew this and it is why they drafted him knowing he was going to stay in Victoria a year after being drafted and a go home candidate after reaching potential...

Him and Jack are not similar on ability levels or playing style.... IMO.... Like Cotchin, getting his body right and some experience and they were going to be awesome players...

Zaharakis has won a B&F already, has a high skill level.... Maybe not as powerful as the other two, but will be a gun...

Schuey was the kid at WC.... He is going to be something

Kennedy, Watson, Swan are power mids... 190cm, 90kg clearance/endurance beasts... Armo would be a better (but lesser) comparison.
