We went and watched the New Orleans Saints, playing at home, last Sunday. Absolutely fabulous! The Saints got up for a closely fought win against local enemy and previously undefeated Atlanta, so that obviously helped.

Overall, the atmosphere was electric. The Superdome was virtually full and the crowd must have been 95+% Saints which is something we never get to experience. They were really rowdy and seemed to consciously use noise as a deliberate distraction when Atlanta were in offence.

As Aussie Sainters, we got a really warm welcome from people seated around us and they even tolerated my Saints cap well [the Atlanta Falcons also wear red, white & black].

It's a long way to go to watch a footy match but for anyone who is anywhere nearby I would totally recommend it.

It's a shame ignorance isn't painful

I bought a New Orleans guernsey when I was in Hawaii. I love it :)

Last night I was watching the trots on sky andthere was a horse called Saint Flash at Melton who won at very good odds. The drivers colors were like our tri colored jumper. I cheered for him even though i never backed him. D Douglas drove it. Any one know anything about who owns it? It paid $13 on our Tote.

There is the great St Helens RLFC.

Also St Etienne in the French football 1st Division, but they are know as "les Verts" (the Greens) rather than Saints.
