GT says we should go after Malthouse

Post: # 1140752Post sainterinsydney »

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/g ... 6138319358

"I spoke to Mick back in 2001 when I was searching for a coach and he said, 'I can guarantee I will coach St Kilda one day and I want to get back there and coach.

"That would be the final thing I want to do, to coach St Kilda, so keep in touch'."

Get GT.

Knows how to develop young players and he eats pressure for breakfast.

The club would be derelict in it's duty if it did not investigate whether a 3 time Premiership coach is available, willing and/or suitable to fill our coaching vacancy.

Clearly the outstanding candidate for the job - if we can get him.

Now is the time to make serious enquiries.

And if anyone wants to tear up their membership if he signs, no problems, I'm sure all those members who walked away over our boring brand of footy will happily take your place.

Still, getting him out of the Magpies' deal might be tricky.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Just a piece of paper as Ross Lyin has shown. Collingwood won't stand in his way if he wants to go.

Yeah they should go after him hard.
As you would any 3 time flag coach.

My membership renewal is another story.

I am not a very big MM fan. Can't handle his mo.

Didn't you nearly come to blows with GT over Rix?

Also if we couldn't offer RL the right price, what would MM expect?

Malthouse probably doesn't want to go back to WA, plus i think he wants to stay near his grandkids.

Time to convince our rich supporters to pitch in and build us a large fund to buy our way to a flag, seems to be the only way to do it again.

Absolutely get Malthouse 100%!

Thomas is right about the incompetence of the St kilda board!

The appointment of Pelchen without notice.... a deliberate attempt from the board to usurp Lyon's authority was the straw that broke the camels back!

Inherited a brilliant coach and now these dumbed down, dingabats of discombobulation have managed to piss him off and then lose him

Westway might make good trucking calls but when it comes to football matters he knows SWEET F*** ALL!

Micks a good coach, he might not be liked by some fans, but who cares if the guy could build the list to a premiership? I am sure those who don't like him will soon change...

But I don't think there is a chance of him coaching the club, might as well find someone else. He still has that 3 year deal with the Pies, so unless they allow him to get out of that by mutually breaking the contract I don't see it happening.

But we're allowed to dream, thank god this year is almost over.

It's interesting. Surely if he delivers back to back flags they can't stop him from leaving?

I mean what more could you ask for...

I'd be very happy to land Malthouse, but I can't see it happening.

Jesus the worm turns quicky for you guys.

Bag Malthouse incessantly all year and now you want to turn to him?

PMSL.

We dont want that flea bag and we shouldnt prostitute ourselves to get him all because he has coached 3 flags.

We have to fight our culture.

I place the blame squarely with Ross, who misled and lied to the players, the president and even his own management, who have since sacked him as a client.

Westaway is guilty only of the same mistake many poor souls on this board have made in saying "in Ross I trust."

But to some it seems Ross still can do no wrong
