Interesting that Maguire has been named at CHB.

I wonder if he will play there, or up forward again?

if you were the coach where would you play him given that he's kicked 10 in the past two weeks?

i think he was named chb last week, too.

Lyon is big on roles...it will most likely depend on where Lyon will want to try him in the seniors.

Though Lyons recent discussion on Goose was to freshen him up by playing him as a forward.

if I was the coach i probably would listen to RL and act on where he would like him to play

i know, but surely sandringham will have a say in this.

i'm assuming they will want to win the game and it would make sense to keep a player in a position in which he is dominating. it's a no-brainer!

the coach takes responsibility for whether his team wins or loses and if i was coaching sandy i'd demand the right to put a player in any position i chose.

in any case, goose was named at chb last week and (i presume) played at chf.

Geelong have a pretty potent 2 prong forward line in Podsiadly and Lonergan

Max to take Podsi and Goose on Lonergan Id say

Pretty fortuitous to have Max in the side. Podsiadley is a star on his day

The only reason Goose played forward at all was because Sauntner was out.

Last week Sandy needed some help up forward as well, and Goose filled the bill.

He will plat CHB this week and probably go forward if needed.

So does sandringham with goose playing forward.

Good luck to the guy for trying to reinvent himself and prove that he's not a one-trick pony.

I hope he makes it back for us in some role and doesn't end up at chf for the bulldogs or carlton.

i haven't seen any of miles, but hasn't he been playing back? can he take podsiadly? i guess at 185/78 he might be a little bit small for podsi who's about 192 if i remember right.

Goose will only play back if RL wants him to. Even though the Saints try and do the right thing by Sandy it is more important they do the tight rhing by our players and our side.

Sounds like it will be the test that Ross would like for Max. I imagine if he gets through this he'll be on a plane to the GC to hopefully lock horns and shut down Robertson.

My belief is that Max, Goose, Armo, Raph and McEvoy will all get a run in the ones at some stage over the next 4 or 5 rounds to see how they fit in and play to our structure. I only base this on my thoughts but I would think Ross would like to see how they adjust to the way we're playing atm.

Maybe it's more a wish as I certainly believe Max and Raph are in our best 18 and depending on structure and injuries the other 3 will hopefully get chances to prove their worth and can seamlessly fit into our side when needed.

so then that will be a good barometer for where Max is on the scale of readiness to come back into the seniors

Also, good to see Lynch as our best with 4 goals!!

And also Podsiadly only kicked 2! Was Max his direct opponent??

Can someone confirm which "Gram" was named in the best players and kicked one goal? I thought Jason Gram was out due to injury?

Hoping that there is a simple clarification here?

Wouldn't mind seeing Lynch be tested out as a lead up forward in the next month, see if he has something more to offer than Gwilt.

Armitage is doing everything in his power to get a game by the looks of it but I can't think of anyone who should be dropped for him.

Details are from VFL website. Definately Jason Gram listed.
