Robert Harvey on the doco The Essence of the Game

Post: # 721016Post Beej »

If there is anything I'd like to be remembered for it's that I love St Kilda and that I gave all that I had to the club and there's nothing more, physically, that I could have left on the field. If that is something I could be remembered for, I'd be pretty happy.
Legend.

If you haven't seen this documentary then I advise you download it now. Absolutely brilliant.

Indeed.

Know who this is by any chance?

He had a mate pass away last year and wore a black armband against the Bulldogs. On the doco he got very emotional as he stood up in front of his teammates telling them why he was wearing the armband.

I think it was Jarryd Morton or Josh Kennedy from memory?

It was on channel 7 a little while ago, I had no idea either until I found it on some torrent site the other day.

I doubt there is a better documentary on the game.

From the Xavier/St Kevin's rivalry to Eade and Clarkson's pre and post-game speeches to the little Tiwi boy kicking a goal with his first kick and the father and son playing a game of footy in the backyard.

I love all the behind-the-scenes stuff.

Sent shivers down the spine throughout, very moving I found it.

Must be Morton because they did a little thing on Kennedy's first game and that guy in the picture is definitely not him.
