Training on the 7th

Post: # 719285Post saintdooley »

The next open training session will be held on Tuesday April 7th from 2:00pm at Linen House Oval, Moorabbin.

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

Is it actually training though Dools, or is it just a heap of blokes out running around the park and kicking a footy around?

Unless it's a couple of days out from a game it doesn't count as training apparently...and should never be named as such...

Even if Channel 7 film it for their 'special insight segment' in their Friday Night broadcast and label it 'training'?

Yes and riding a bike is training as well but it isnt great to watch. This is training as it is 4 days before a game. They train properly 2 and 4 days before a game. You should get with the program. It may help you understand the game better.

Could have this jolly banter all night, but back to the OP.

You going Dools?

I have to work unfortunately.

Would appreciate reports on it though.

Is it still on?
I notice another thread from SaintsMedia saying there will be no 'open sessions' for about a month due to the works going on.

Does that include today or start after today?

open session today.
notable absentee: kosi (i believe he does construction work once a week [perhaps today]) anyway.

goose still in the 'injury group'.
everyone as expected trained moderately.
must note that i did not witness the completion.
xavier clarke looked somewhat proppy and not at full strength.
RL did some media that would be expectedly on ST and the like tonight.
all else trained.

Kosi was at a funeral, according to the Herald Sun

Training 7 April 2pm onwards

Goose, Maxy, Dempster, Gwilty, Cahill, Raph, X , Allen and Begley doing lots of handballing, short kick passes.

• Kosi missing
• Goose looked sharp with his skills
• Begley looked really good, clean with his hands
• Dempster and Raph had a few fumbles

Running laps was Armo, Bakes, Lenny, Farren, Grammy and Gardy

Steven doing grapevines, sprints etc was being watched by a coach!

Joey and Milney really shone, in many of the drills! They were vocal and had crisp skills.

Gilbo looked good, he looked like a leader amongst the running packs.

Rooey left early, to do leg weights.

X did the full session

Was good to see Bally really encouraging Simpkim after a nice effort, during the drill.

Gardy doing laps for a while- talked to Rossy for a bit after the laps.

Dally still has strapping on his left knee. (He was kicking with Bally whilst
the main session was on, went back over during simulation game.)

Coach ( I think it was Elshaug) was yelling out for Eljay to move to the ball- he was holding back for the ball to come to him. * Also, Milney was told to move to the front of the ball.

BJ kicked quite a few goals on the run from clearances!

Sam McGarry has heavily strapped shoulders, must be precautionary- haven’t seem them strapped up before (previous injury?) anyone confirm?

Few ruckmen drills carried out in the middle.

McQualter stood out today at training, seemed lively!

Sammy Fisher walked in early, looked really proppy, didn't really put much weight on his left foot, not sure if it was hamstring related... probably just going to get a massage or do weights.

Overall, wasn't the most entertaining or exciting trainings i've been to. Boys seemed a bit proppy and tired. However, this probably isn't the main session for the week so it's bound to be a lighter run round.
