Win its first Day Premiership (Grand Final)?
Was it 1940 when we won the first Patriotic Premiership, in a one day carnival when we beat Richmond by 24 points?

The actual question is a little flawed...

The first day premiership won in the day time was in 1940 (Senior side).

Yes the first and only day time (home and away) premiership was won in 1966.

But, that was not the question you asked.

You asked in what year did St Kilda Win its first Day Premiership (Grand Final)

You did not mention in the question in a home and away season.

and again the first day premiership won by the Saints was in 1940

I am not even sure about our reserves or under 19 sides as you didn't mention seniors.

Again the fact that you didn't even mention seniors in you initial question raises more questions.

The Saints reserves won the "day premiership" in 1943

St Kilda won the Premiership in 1913.

Fitzory appealed the result of the match, played again the next week and beat us.

So technically we won a day Grand Final in 1913 ;)

Yes mate, as I said.

The question was flawed to start with.

No mention of senior team.

No mention of the home and away competition ...(just day)

but technically we "officially" won a Flag in 1940 (seniors)

and the same for the reserves in 1943...

So n1ck, records would show that we were not the winners in 1913 and have no flag to prove it.

but we were the winners in both of the ones I have mentioned.

Again, I thought it was too easy of a question, and the question was not worded right to start with.

All the best to the winners, but please make sure the questions in the future are not ambiguous

The point of asking the question was just to cut out anyone simply trying to wait and hit their submit key without having read anything.

As per the Rules I am the sole judge of the validity of the answers and I have accepted the two winners.

If I wanted to have asked a difficult or trick question I would have done so. That was not the objective.

The main point of tonight was to find Player Sponsors that COULD attend the first event...and to do this in an ubiased way.

We all, including me, would have love to attend. In my case the process excluded me.

Cheers.

Look I have already congratulated the winners, but again the question was flawed as mentioned above.

No mention of senior side or home and away season...

All I am saying is that maybe in future that the questions are not as ambiguous

Well you were wrong anyway, Fitzroy didn't beat us by appeal.

In those days the team that finished on top had the right to challenge if they didn't win it.
