Future Clash Jumper Vote

Post: # 499571Post Armoooo »

66Sorry Tassie Saint I had to delete one because I couldn't get it to make 15 options for the poll and I picked yours because I don't think it would pass as a clash jumper.... Sorry

Thanks for your designs everyone, I think we can say without a doubt that they are all a hell of a lot better than the piece of crap we had served to us this year.... I think in total throughout the whole season I saw less than 10 people wearing that jumper...

Lol, these dam polls are tricky, it would only let me go up to option 14...
The other thread was just a disaster, I stuffed up the voting picture, the polling options and because of that Ric voted for the wrong jumper....

Hopefully this one goes a bit smoother....

good choices...most are far better than our current alternate stip.

It always amazes me that we have the best colour combo in the game, yet we don't seem to be able to create some good designs.....you have some good ones here.

My rule on design choices - go for stright lines & basic patterns where you can...Its more classical and symmertical & pleasing to the eye. Stay away from funny shapes twisty lines etc....because they look like a dog's breakfast, like some of the 1980's patterns by some teams...

My choices are:
Top 2:
7 - simple bold design, nice colour contrasts (good clash strip for most dark colour based teams)
6- ditto, and may be more suited as a clash for the dons & the swans
--------
Next best:
3 & 4 are not bad, but not as striking as 6 & 7
9 & 13 are good, but I think they would still present a clash.
11- not bad, this is ok too...
---
Others:
not a fan of the others...

Agreed, I voted 3, but would be just as happy with 6.

Club employees/lurkers (we know you are here) take this to the bosses IMMEDIATELY! Please. :D

Woah, after 23 votes all but 3 designs have been given atleast one vote, that is a fair indication of the overall quality of the designs...

That was in like 4 days, how long did the club have to come up with our design last year?!?!?

I kinda miss the stick figure man, so I thought I'd honour him with a jumper.

Kinda surprised he made the cut and my V jumper didn't. Oh well, no prizes for guessing what my vote is

Brilliant designs folks, well done to all those who participated.

Oh and Armoooo, brillant idea making a poll out of this. Hopefully it might bring the issue to the forefront.

My Pick: Option 3
Next Best: Option 6
I like, but not a clash jumper: Option 10

The rest are still great but im just not sure about the complications of some of them...option 3 is easily the one i would buy first out of those but option 6 would still make me reach in my pockets

option 1 and 14 are interesting but just not simple enough imo...i dont think i would buy them

others are good but i still prefer #3

14 would look okay on a skin tight top, otherwise it would look crap. Too fancy for my liking.

As far as i know, the rules behind our clash jumper are - predominantly white, and no multiple vertical stripes.

i think i read that each club needs a light jumper and a dark jumper

because of the back of the traditional home jumper that would be considered our dark one so our clash would have to be light

now is red considered light?

Wow, well done everyone these are great.

I think option 6 looks very classy,
but option 12 (or a variation) may be more preferable for the club from a marketing perspective given that the shield is the focus.

All excellent designs.
Well done.

Gotta be 6, surely.

Option 3 is too similar to South Melbourne / Sydney / South Fremantle and a cross is more in keeping with our traditions than a V.

Option 1: A bit weird and doesn't seem to be something you would immediately connect with St Kilda. Not terrible, but doesn't really look like a footy jumper
Option 2: I believe that the clash jumper has to be the brightest of the team's colours, which would make this ineligble
Option 3: Looks pretty good, but is a bit too Sydney-like IMO. We need something that is distinguished from other clubs
Option 4: See 2. Looks good though
Option 5: Doesn't look too bad, but nore does it look like a footy jumper
Option 6: Pretty good. It isn't brilliant, but I wouldn't mind if this was chosen
Option 7: See 2
Option 8: No. Looks like a counterfit St Kilda t-shirt
Option 9: Not bad. I'm not a fan of the stick-figure, but it isn't a bad jumper
Option 10: Looks pretty cool, but I can't see a football team running out wearing that
Option 11: See 2
Option 12: That should be our training jumper
Option 13: My favourite. Maintains the St Kilda roots, fits the requirements and looks great
Option 14: Looks kind of cool on a computer, but not sure how it would translate in real life

My preferences
Option 13
Option 6
Option 9
Option 12
Option 3

I think 14 is really cool, but seems people think it is a bit complicated,

I'm sure it could be simplified, but I really really like it. I like the fact it has the shield in the shape. I think it would look fantastic with 22 players running out onto the ground!

Also why didn't Gazza's design make the vote? it was really good, and to be honest a cross (excuse the pun) between his and Drew's may be the way forward.

Still I'd like to see a short list of say 5 guernseys put together in the next week or 2. Then have another round of voting with just the 5 main ones, I don't think we wanna rush into it too quick as I still think that feedback can really help designs that have a lot of potential (14 for example)
