Re: Our fixture
Collingwood played interstate 3 times in 4 games from round 4-7.
We have one of the, if not the, easiest draw this season.
We are like +13 on the ‘free kick’ ladder this season.
Is there an end to things you will find to whinge about???

Re: Our fixture
Big game this week against GWS. Make or break for mine. Yes, we can still play finals if we lose however we won't be credible until we beat a top side.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Our fixture
At the start of the year if we were told we would be 6 & 3 and 120% after Rd 9 nearly all of us would have been over the moon
It was a filthy loss but our fixture ahead looks ok and we should make finals easily if we can curtail our injuries

Re: Our fixture
It wasn’t injuries that was the problem giving Adelaide a 6 goal start in the first quarter
Our pressure rating was POOR. Our kicking inside 50 was poor. Clearance work and simple hand balling to a target was poor and, our marking was putrid. The only thing we were good at was turnovers

…and re-capture the hard at the player, and pill attitude and energy of earlier rounds. Playing zoning-off, predictable football, on yesterday’s performance, sows doubts in our own team play, structure and injects confidence in the opposition.

Re: Our fixture
Totally agree …. There is no way most of us sane people would have expected us to be where we are with the team hobbled together at the start of the year . I thought it would be a year of getting games into the young blokes to learn from , so it’s been a surprise to get where we are . To play final’s would top it off nicely and then hopefully we will draft some more young midfielders that can kick and hit target.

Re: Our fixture
All teams have down days ..... good teams have the ability to bounce back .... we have bounced back from 2 losses this year so far with wins
Currently out of the team at the moment are King Webster Windhager Billings Gresham McKenzie Hayes Jones & Coffield ..... all potential best 22
We probably won't win it this year but playing Finals is very real if we can curtail injuries and get players back ... then who knows
6 & 3 and 120% you would take every year without question

Re: Our fixture
It's the fact we got thrashed rather than a small loss. The percentage dropped from 137 to 120% bringing us back to the pack. I don't think good sides get thrashed when they lose.

Re: Our fixture
Melbourne were on track to be thrashed by Brisbane (46 points down) until the lights went out and they kicked the last six goals of the game when Brisbane put the cue in the rack.

Re: Our fixture
I think we underestimate the impact of the suspension of Caminiti.
He was in ripping form and he had confidence and he was competing strongly prior to that
The team was benefitting from knowing he was always going to give a good contest
I truly believe the mids had been spoilt by having him down at FF and perhaps they got into bad habits just bombing it in (based on instruction from RTB and Harves)
Anyhow...The Hammer, King and Membrey is going to be a formidable forward line...we just need some adjustments to our midfield
