Saints v Bluescum Team Line Ups + Ins & Outs

Post: # 1964196Post Devilhead »

Out - Butler Byrnes Long Wanganeen

In - Ryder Hill Higgins Highmore

FB - Paton Howard Webster
HB - Highmore Battle Wilkie
C - Hill Crouch Ross
HF - Membrey Sharman Billings
F- Higgins King Gresh
Foll - Ryder Steele Sinclair
Int - Marshall, Clark, Jones Windhager,
Sub - Wood

That's not a bad team across all lines

Once DMac is right to go .... bring him in for Windhager

I have a weird feeling that we are going to bounce back strong against the Blues

Looks like a very nice line up, except I'd like Byrnes to stay.
Not sure who goes out.

Maybe Jones, as he tries to do too much.
He seems to have gone backwards from 2020

Average AFL Fantasy points for Zak Jones:
2020 avg 71
2021 avg 88
2022 avg 66

Look logical, however I'd movd Hill yo HF line. Not sure who goes to the wing. Maybe Jones & Billings to the bench

Can't see NWM being dropped after his best return at AFL level.

Hopefully they've tested his eyes for colour blindness, he seems unable to spot up the RW&B jumper and regularly kicks it lace out down the bread basket of opposition players.

He, like Webster, was at least trying to hit a target or take a risk, rather than repeatedly bombing it down the line like the rest of them.

Probably the more appropriate thread for this.

FB - Wilkie, Howard Webster
HB - Sinclair Battle Highmore
C - Hill Crouch Milera
HF - Membrey Sharman Billings
F- Marshall King Butler
Foll - Ryder Steele Gresh
Int - Ross, Clark, Windhager, Jones
Sub - Long/Higgins

In Ryder, Hill, Highmore
Out Byrnes, Paton, Long

Byrnes out because of footskills and lack of tackling. Jones the other one considered.

Don't mind going a bit taller, our structure was at its best when we had Hayes in the side and sharman is not a genuine tall anyway.

Paton hasn't been in amazing form and is unlucky highmore has been banging down the door.

Hill brings some better ball use.

Players on notice.
Jones- skills/decision making
Billings- must keep bringing the work rate, better last week
Butler- must continue to kick at least a goal a game and keep bringing the pressure
Sharman- backing him in at the moment but needs a bigger game soon
Gresh- unlikely to be dropped but needs to take the more obvious option more often

You must be watching different games to me. NWM has been, on average, a very reliable kick (except at goal). Some of his passing has been sublime.

we are watching the same games, totally agree his passing has been sublime but I'd say maybe at least 2 times in each of our last games he has kicked the ball directly to an opponenet.

That makes it four fewer times than most of the team.

Nwm is our best kick in play at the moment, problem is he kicks it to where he believes our player should be running to. Unfortunately a few times he is too clever for the target and they don’t run where he thinks they should and it’s an easy mark for the opposition. Look out for it this week

Didn't Highmore's opponent kick 5 goals on him on the weekend?
What is with this forum and the blind love for middle rung players?
Sharman, Highmore, Long etc.

He wasn't playing on him for the whole game apparently.

Still reckon that Jones will find form ...maybe giving him a tagging role and get him to focus on one particular job ..... maybe on Walsh .... Harass Harass Harass Pressure Pressure Pressure

Also Paton ... make it simple for him ..... negate that one particular small forward .... its what he is good at

No Highmore?

I like the ins but think Highmore should be given a chance.

So Long & Paton are the scapegoats for our two worst performances of 2022, Sharman, Joyce and Byrnes are simply window dressing.

If we lose this Friday night, I look forward to the next batch of sheep to go over the cliff into the shores of St Kilda.
