Good to see Maxy Hudghton's smiling face at the end of the game. One of the best fullbacks we've ever had.

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

Should have been played by that useless tosser instead of his toyboy FFS in the 2009 grammie.

I saw himthe following Sunday morning at Etihad . He was a shattered man.

Disagree. Max was too much of a injury risk for 2009.

Missed games through injury, lost his spot in a team that won 19 straight. Big call and massive risk to play him no matter how much he was a favourite son.

The guy who was played was in hospital overnight on a drip ffs. Max might have been our favorite son, but he certainly wasn't the tosser's.

He even took him with him to Freo ffs,

Remember watching that with the old 'animal enclosure' and 'Frankston end goals' brigade at Stewie Loewe's pub in Bentleigh.
Apparently they had to get the floor fixed after the match - because of all the stomping and jumping around after we got up.

Was it 2010, he picked Ma BStevie Baker in a similarly untested condition.

Not a popular coach move for sure, ranks as the one move I won’t forgive Lyon for. Worse than GTs blunder not to pick I think it was Brooks, but GT got fired a few days later.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

“I did not have sexual relations with that......” lol

Good old Ross the Tossbag. Problem is he would have his sleazy snakey grin on at the moment with the season suspension just after his sacking.

Was starting to try and learn that I don’t need to hate Freo anymore !

Disagree. I loved Max - he was a beacon in a dark time. But he was injured and just couldn't get his body right at the end of the season.

I wasn't a huge Dawson fan but (1) his peers voted him player of the finals series in 2009 - that's a fair commendation; (2) He did his role very well on GF day and was pretty brave and selfless to leaves his man for infamous toe-poke incident. Had Scarlett not executed that - Dawson would likely have a statue at Moorabbin.

You obviously have forgotten the Dawson handpass straight to a girlong player which resulted in the infamous goal that wasn't really a goal    .

Hawkins smothered Dawsons kick then booted the ball into the post. The next goal was worse the umpire gifting Ablett a free when there was nothing in it.

I was there but have never watched a replay, nor a replay of any of our grand final losses.

Memory plays tricks though. I remember that the toy boy gave the ball to Hawkins. The method of delivery escapes me.

I am not a Dawson fan.,Waste of space afaic.
