Who would have thought that with Paddy only managing 35 games that we would still only be ranked 15th out of the 18 teams in the 2014 draft.
That includes that GWS had 3 inside the top 7.

Hmmm, don't know who Sarah Black is but she needs to do her homework. Ranked 15th only because it is St Kilda, the bias is ingrained.

Of course, as a StKilda "supporter" you might just be content to declare McCartin a complete bust when nothing could be further from the truth. Sure, he was not Nick Reiwoldt but nobody could have foreseen the horrible run of concussions that denied him his career.

It was supposed to be the draft that rebuilt us.
We should be contenders now, but a very poor output from high end picks in that draft has resulted in an inability to climb the ladder.

Whether he was the right option At the time is up for debate, but not whether he ended up a player... because he did not.
He has played the lowest number of games by a mile for a pick 1 in the last 20 odd years, and made little impact in the games he did play.
He wasn’t even that great at Sandy. Max King has showed a bit more in the VFL than Paddy did imo
