What's the go with Goose?

Post: # 705203Post Cairnsman »

In the Saints V Bulldogs match thread somebody said that Goose went of with calf tightness.

Has this been confirmed?

I'd imagine that the club is being ultra ultra careful with his return.

I read in an article last night (which I can't find now) that Maguire only went off with calf soreness and it was more a precaution than anything serious.

I figure they didn't want to risk another injury when he's been so successful with his comeback thus far. I think it might be somewhere in this article http://sportal.com.au/default.aspx/AFL- ... ints-65791

He played early with not a lot of impact.

I saw him in the stands after half time with ice on his calf.

I was serioulsy hoping the Goose would come back to his best, after being told he was in hospital after the Brisbane game, and then his calf in ice i really dont think his body can handle it

I hope he proves me wrong, he will just be one of those unlucky players that wont be able to fulfil his potential because of injuries

Goose.

Stick a fork in him and turn him over.

He's done.

Unfortunately I would think the best we will get is asolid contributor in a couple years time and anything this year will be a bonus.

Best case scenario - provides what Schwartz gave Melbourne after Multiple knee recos. Big body forward to bust packs etc, unfortunately the game style does not suit these type players at the moment.

Pretty sure he didn't go to hospital, I think Murray accidentally started that rumour  We asked St Kilda at the end of the function and they said he definately did not go to hospital.

We have to be patient with Goose, we can't expect him to come back and play like a champion straight away, the slightest twinge and they will not risk him
