Don't do it for Harves..................

Don't do it for Harves..................

I am sure that the players may well lift as a group for a game due to motivation such as wanting success for Harves.

But there is not the slightest chance in Hell (or Heaven) that such a thought would inspire the playing group over an eight week campaign.

They have to want success for themselves...to hunger for it.. to want it bad...to want it above all else.

They have to want success for themselves...and for their team-mates.

Only then will we see the 4 quarter, week in ,week out, type of transformation that one has seen in Geelong over last season and this.

Now what Banger's retirement may do is drive home the realisation that success the AFL can bee fleeting ad that opportunity cannot just be lusted after, it has to be seized...it has to be EARNT.

So what I hope Banger's announcement may do is inspire in the players a HUNGER for success for themselves, for their team-mates and not just for Harvey.

If so we will be able to have a crack at the flag, not just this year, but next year, and the one after too....

Such HUNGER has been sadly lacking this season, for while a few like banger have been putting in sustained 4 quarter football, they have been the exception and not the rule.

4 quarter football needs to become the rule...and I hope such a realisation and turning may be Banger's legacy.

Go Saints.

I said this some time ago- they need to be doing it for ' themselves' and by that I mean for their own honour; to be proud of their own work,
then for their teammates and then family
then do it for Harves and Barks and Jack

then they can think of us and make us proud of them too.

He is a legend of the club and a legend of the game, he is an amazing man," Blake said. "He has tremendous respect right throughout the club and all we ask is that everyone who walks out and wears the jumper on the weekend gives their best. That is how we can honour him, to make sure he gets the honour that he deserves."
spoken like the leader he is proving to be- Mr consistent

After watching the saints these last 3 games it would seem to me that way too many of our player just do not have the hunger for success.
