Does going in with 4 rucks (if you include Kosi as a ruck) seem strange to anyone else?

Still will be great to see M. Gardiner on the park!

I believe Schneider had a quad problem or something before the intraclub, musn't be 100% still, which is disappointingly, but probably just giving him the extra rest and set him up for round 1 because the NAB cub is not worth the risk to further injury. No idea why Gram is not included though.

Still, a great looking team list! Where did you get the info? I checked the saints site before but there was nothing there except an article about our head trainer.

As for the four rucks thing, I highly doubt Kosi will ruck. Rix, King and Gardi will take the rucks. Gardi will not be 100% match fit, so expect solid work between King and Rix with Gardi rotating on and off to get game time and match fitness. Could not have Gardi and King battle it themselves, they need a 100% fit Rix to cover them. Still, very excited to see them all there! Can't believe I am about to watch Michael Gardiner and Steven King play in St Kilda guernseys! *begins to salivate homer simpson style*

Gunna be a good year boys ;)

Are they saving Ferguson for the last few rounds again...

Whats up with McEvoy & Gilbert?

Would have liked to see Allen in the side, but I think it's a tough lineup for another tall to get in to. Perhaps could have been used at CHB???

I know it's only round one of the nab cup, but does this side show that Dempster has passed ferguson in the pecking order??

Where's BJ at??? This time last year, everybody was talking about how Lenny was progressing, but things seems a lot quieter with Goddard this time around. Does anyone know if he'll be right for round 1, or before???

i got the info from the afl sight Huzzad

im thinking we are maybe a key defender short
maybe rix?
also the game is a really good chance for the younger un-proven guys to stake there claim ala Adelaide on Saturday night

No, it seems a very sensible and correct thing to do in a practice match, ie. to try and find out our best ruck combo.

Remember, this IS a practice game, regardless of what the Monkey Boy or Greasy Greek tries to tell you otherwise!

My lineup would be something like this .....

B: R. Clarke, M. Hudghton, J. Gwilt
HB: J. Geary, S. Fisher, S. Dempster
C: A. Fiora, N. Dal Santo, C. Jones
HF: C. Gardiner, N. Riewoldt, R. Harvey
F: F. Gehrig, J. Koschitzke, S. Milne
Foll: M. Gardiner, L. Montagna, S. Baker
I/C: S. King, S. Birss, M. Rix, A. McQualter, J. Blake, R. Eddy

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  8-)

Likewise would have loved to see Jarryd Allen play...did he play Intra-Club?

Tis a pretty formidable goal to goal line and personally, even with may of our players out and the Tiges pretty strong, I cant see their defence holding our forward line to a losing score

Great chance for Joey to be the general of the midfield and let Dal play a slightly more outside role.

the luxury of having enough rucks to play Kosi forward could make all the difference this year. Remember the game against the Coasters last year, when he dominated the air and took solid grab after solid grab? Let's hope M Gardiner gets through ok in the NAB Cup and holds up for the big time.

There are still 2 to be cut. My money would be on Howard and Miles.

Don't be surprised if Riewoldt or Hudghton don't play.

I think they're being cautious with those two.

No Luke van Rheenen in the squad? May get a chance later on in the NAB Cup.

Can't wait to watch these players:
Jarryn Geary
Rob Eddy
Sean Dempster
Steven King
Clinton Jones(see if his skill have improved)
Luke Miles(if he plays)

As MSG said there are still two players to be cut.

Allen played back in the second quarter of the inter club and had the only 2 goals of that quarter kicked on him. IMO he is to slow as a backman. Dempster may have passed Ferg because Ferg is again injured. Will be out at least 2 more weeks.

Could be around the groin area.
