we went a long while without any of the porn spam and it seems to be coming back heaps now
i hope we can ensure we dont get anymore as being on my work computer our internet filter will start flagging SS as a porn site and then the forum will miss out on my quallity posts

What happened Mods. - I thought at least one of you would be on the ball ALL the time, particularly when you get doubtful registrations like those two I've mentioned.

How many times do we have to say it?

Mods dont have the power to get rid of users, nor do we have any input into who is registered or not. Admins do all that.

We can delete and lock POSTS - thats it. The posts were deleted an hour ago, what more do you want exactly?

i was just saying a while back someone said that there was a new system for reg. that was gunna keep them out for good but that doesnt seem to be working any more ,not dissing you mads you guys do a good job just curious about it as if it gets too bad ill be blocked out form coming onto SS and seriouly my day would suck beyond all crapness if i couldnt get on SS

SS now has over 10,000 members, how many of them are real, and how many are spammers? Surely there's a bank of already registered spammer accounts.

The only real way to get around this is to implement a Captcha and email activation system, and delete all accounts with 0 posts.

What about the people who signed up and just want to read the forum and dont have any posts?

Mods are doing a great job......remember they are VOLUNTEERS....and with the extra mods we have the site is much better than it was a bit backed when they were stretched too thin.

i think the mods are doing a fine job.
modding a forum is not an easy task if u have a life and family outside of this place.
it takes alot of time to dedicate yourself to modding ANY forum.
maybe those that hate the spam or neg posters should offer some assistance to the site?
or just get off the mods backs and let them keep the site quite free from bulls*** spam (which they are doing)

One other request..can people NOT add/reply to obvious spam posts, especially porn?

That way they have every chance to slip down the page and be less noticeable if its a lil while before a mod can log on and get rid of it
