Ross Smith?

Yes, it was Mike Patterson. How did he get his nickname "The Swamp Fox"? Does anyone know?

I found the quote in, "The Point of it All" and thought it a good one; if a bit Malthouse-esque.

Actually, that should be some of Malthouse's quotes sound Patterson-esque.

Well done HarveysDeciple. Your turn.

Sorry guys. and thanks for the PM OWTS.

In the 1996 Ansett Cup Grand Final who kicked 6 goals, and who got knocked out early in the game by Earl Spalding.

Pretty easy one this.

Was it Stewie that kicked 6 goals? It was either Stewie or Spider, and Burkey was knocked out.

Yeah ya got it mate.

Stewie kicked the 6.
and Burkey got knocked out by a thug, just as he did in the Elimination Final of 1991.

Thankfully it didnt cost us this time.

Thommo, Rix, Peckett, Baker...

And if Aussie had have stayed on this year he'd be included as well.

In the ‘80s we made a few changes to our club song. A new phrase was included that read:

We’re Saints we’re proud and we’ve got a lot of fight.
We’re on the move, you can feel our might,
……………………………………………………
And we’re loyal to our mates, ‘cause we’re the Saints.

What is the missing third line?

Not quite, but wouldn't that be an interesting addition?

Was there also a

"We chase 'em when they're hot, and hit 'em when they're not"

in one of the verses?

That's the one. So corny, but I used to love it. I actually reckon that version of the song with the instruments is much better than the drum roll and the 60-odd year old bloke singing we have these days. Just one man's opinion.

The Doug Parkinson version.

Of all the tinkering that has ever been done to the sacred song, this was the one that was closest to being acceptable, maybe because they kept the traditional song as the chorus.

Ah s*** I loved that song! It gives me goosebumps thinking about it! Reminds me of the good old days of Moorabbin, watching the saints run out as a kid and frantically searching to make sure Plugger was out there.

I want this song.Does anyone have it and want to put it online for us to download?
