Wilkie was reaching around his chest and when Lobb went to lift his arm it was restricted. Very soft and very late whistle. I assume it came from the non controlling umpire.

I would trade Gresham, Billings and Crouch all are crabs and dont have the legs for the current game. Did you see Gresham give up on a chase after about 4 steps in that 3rd quarter.

Brodie was criticised for being too slow, but he is a race horse compared to Crouch.

Billings never got out of a fast trot for the entire game. Never shows one ounce of desperation, want or urgency. I guess thats why they call him vanilla.

Watching the replay of that 50m given against Butler....how the hell is that not cheating by the umpire.

That was the very definition of a free kick to Butler.

Irrelevant, Butler shouldn’t have given the 50 away. Effectively killed the game for us.

I think that was Highmore's first AFL game for the year, he probably got the shock of his life at the difference between AFL and VFL, and got found out.

He didn't appear to be that bad last year when he played AFL more often.

My only two disagreements with that is that (1) Billings stuck 3 tackles which resulted in HTB decisions (2) Crouch was close to our best which may be more of an indictment on our team.

The clear sign from the umpire was dragging the arms down - he made a motion that you do to truckers to get them to pull the horn - but even so - that kind of free is rarely paid unless the shirt is pulled
