Outcomes and injuries mean that judges and juries give different penalties to perpetrators of the same action

Person 1 leaves the pub and gets behind the wheel while intoxicated. Person 1 loses control at a bend and crashes into a tree

Person 2 leaves the pub and also drives their car while intoxicated. Person 2 loses control at a bend and crashes into a house and kills a baby.

Same act, but I guarantee you the judge and jury will give a greater penalty to Person 2, than they will for the guy who committed the exact same action

Actually, if you watch the footage carefully, you'll see that during Day's first 4 or 5 strides he was running in a direction slightly away from Ryder and would have missed Ryder altogether.
But then, in the last two strides he surprisingly turned - changed direction - and ran straight into Ryder.

Ryder had to brace for that contact. He only had a split second left to protect himself.

If he had continued to run slightly away from Ryder, Ryder would have been able to apply a tackle instead - and pressure him in that way.

Does he need a week off yet?

He’s only played 2 consecutive games. Maybe in 3-4 weeks.

If Paddy gets suspended because Hall ran into him and got concussed, then St.Kilda needs to ask why the Richmond player whose tackle left Higgins concussed didn't get charged.
Paddy, wasn't even moving when the collision happened.

It should be our choice to give Paddy a week off - not the MRO [Medical Reports Outcomes]

A really good point. The player elexted to tackle Higgins, Paddy elected to bump. Same argument isn't it?

2 weeks for standing his ground, wtf was he supposed to do?

Meanwhile Ben Brown cops 2 weeks for a deliberate dirty raised elbow strike. The system &Michael Christian is a joke

That is f****** bulls***. Brown gets 1 week for an elbow to the head in an VFL game. Time for that f***wit Filth guy making the decisions for the AFL to piss off.

Hope the Saints appeal.

Different Year - Different Rule

But - F@rking H3ll

DAY F@RKING CHANGED DIRECTION TO INITIATE THE BUMP

Who do we play next week - Suns
The week after - Giants

AFL Love Children - No F@rking Wonder - Puppet Medical Reports Outcome Michael Christian - playing games again

Where do we send funds to the free Paddy campaign

PS - If they do not appeal I will be filthy - 2 weeks for an early plea - 2 weeks to appeal it - No Brainer

I understand why the AFL haa gone this way.

They are petrified (with due reason) about the inevitable spate of concussion law suits, but …

The rule is wrong. You should be able to stand your ground and also brace for self protection if someone is running at you.

Robbo on 360 just said 2 weeks was correct. That of itself is surely grounds for an appeal.
