He is an excellent runner but the game is football. He can’t tackle, mark overhead or play tight on an opponent.

It's a 3mk time trial. No mention on the club's website of specific times, just that, "Mason Wood has come out on top at this year’s pre-season time trial, with the tall forward one of several Saints to complete the three-kilometre run in under 10 minutes."

It's an improvement on last year and suggests he might be able to better use his weapon (running) to our advantage.

Could be the big improver this year

Reckon Jack Peris would do well in the 200m time trial, he may be the early favorite for the Grand Final sprint

No Hunter or Coffield! Did they partake?

Really good result for Wood, was starting to look good when he got hurt. Doesn’t have the luxury of time, can’t take 2-3 years to settle in... essentially playing for his career right now. Good first step

Was this the time trial Hannebery won last year ?

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

The Grand final sprint may be called off.
No-one will to run against Jack.

Clearly and indication that last year's pre-season was sub standard

Love number 15 - however also would have been great to see Jack Billings in the top 10 (he appeared to have completed the run)
Lets hope that he has at least improved over last year - running ability is an area of his game where improvement could elevate his performance into the elite category

More midfield time for Mason Wood?
He certainly has the tank for it.

He's getting 13 possessions playing mainly as a forward with 67% game time ... what would 85% game time around the midfield/wing deliver?
I'm expecting that to translate to 20 possessions, plus.

Hind found his position (well done by Essendon) - maybe midfield time would suit Mason Wood?
