Wait a minute, so the Pies need to cut costs and the Saints want talent. Why wouldnt a direct swap of lets say Seb Ross for Adam Treloar work? Pies get cap relief and a decent replacement. Saints get their man.

That's equivalent to North paying pick 22.
But they also gave up their future 4th which will be an early 4th pick.

I trust our recruitment team but there’s a part of me that’s disappointed we didn’t pop on Treloar given he wanted to come to us and would be cheap. Imagine adding him, Crouch and Higgins to our midfield ... my god, we’d be flag favourites.

Treloar deal = Treloar + 26 + 33 + 42 for pick 14 + future 2021 second (roughly pick 35)
Treloar + 729 + 563 + 395 for 1161 + Collingwoods future pick 35
Treloar + 1687 points for 1161 + 522 points
Treloar + 4 points for NOTHING
Collingwood has sold Treloar for NOTHING
