Amazing that Bytel finished 8th, considering he had barely done any running in the past 14 months. Langlands...wow...40 seconds knocked off his previous best. That's pretty impressive! Phillips could be that Leigh Montagna type. A quiet starter, but then in his third year blossoms. i hope so.

Like to see Phillips go head to head to head with Geary and Hill.

Battle a 10 flat over 3k is impressive for a 193/95 unit

Lucky Dougal plays deep

and that is where he should stay with a result like that but does anyone truly just play deep anymore, particularly as defence is now a whole of team responsibility, forward and back.

Who knows, maybe he was off-colour or something but the good news is at least he has plenty of room for improvement.

Yes, one key defender always stays goal side of the deepest forward, so only presses as far as the last forward (10-15m goal side)

Often called the wicketkeeper

Defenders don’t run as far or as hard as mids and/or forwards.

Battle & Bytell the standouts for me, perhaps Philips a replacement for Newnes. And very impressive by Nathan Brown.

Brown is such a leader. Showing them what is possible.
Glad we resigned him.

He was an astute pick up. Has delivered what was required and most probably thought he was done a few years back. These extra seasons are a bonus for us. Kudos to the club.

"The 22-degree heat pushed the Saints to their limits" WTF?

I heard doogie howser (MD) was lapped. Great get there by the sound of it!

It was all just a mistake. The Dee's were at the Tan as well, and Dougal slipped in with them. He did think he'd won it though, must've been a hell of a shock :)

Maybe this is Howard's plan.
He'll knock 40 seconds off this year's time next season and we'll be raving about how far he's come.

Up here for thinking!

It was on a 400m athletics track.... so essentially he was 400m behind the first 3 who finished on a 3km run. Not as bad as it seems which at the pace they would have been running, the first over the line would have finished in around 10 min 30 sec and the Doogmeister around 12 mins .. which would be a 4 minute km.

They learned the trick from Paddy's concussion tests.

Could it be Nathan Brown has been using this tactic for the last 12 years?

Just happens to improve every year... amazing ... :?

First two were under 10 minutes.
