Possible Ins after the Bye.

Post: # 1737505Post saynta »

Ins; Sammy, Hickey and White.

Outs: Weller, Webster and ?

I would play two rucks so I guess one of the tall forwards might miss.

Hated seeing Battle, Carlisle and Logan Austin competing in ball ups and centre bounces. Absolutely hated it.

I don't think you can have Hickey and Longer both in the team. I'm absolutely fine with Carlisle doing the occasional rucking dual. After all, he is 200cm tall.

Would like to see Freeman finally get a game. Hope he didn't get injured again yesterday. Bring him in for Weller or Armitage.

Mav will never be dropped till his hard disk is wiped.

My guess is that our changes will be Webster and Austin for Geary and Gilbert. And that will make me want to vomit

The way he's been playing the last two years, it may as well be a floppy disk. He has become as soft as dog poop sandwiches.

What I’d love to see is us getting more games into players like Coffield, Marshall, Phillips and possibly debuts for Freeman, Paton and Connellan.

How far away is Acres?!

For those with any idea, maybe listen to coach comments in presser and or watch the job Mav did on Harbrow across the last quarter and a half.

The coach is trying to save his skin. So he’ll revert back to the old boys instead

Spot on. This board has always suffered from "Chinese Whispers" and pack mentality.

The incessant calls for players like Mav and Armo to be discarded from the list don't take into consideration thier value to the team with regards to much needed experience and hard bodies to help out and balance up the disproportionate amount of green horns the team.

When injury free and in form these two blokes are desperately required players.

Balance and respect.

Given both Sandy and St Kilda have the bye, it's hard to see any form related changes happening.

Webster is likely to miss, but Geary should be fit, so that's the obvious change.

Rice should recover with the break, if not Gilbert could potentially come in.

I'd like to see Paton replace Weller, but I highly doubt it'll happen.

Based on form, there shouldnt be any unforced changes other than perhaps adding one or two speedy players . Longer and Weller were very good last week and Armo among our best.
WOuld love to see Connellan get a run as i think we could struggle at the MCG for speed.

If fit I’d imagine the only changes to be acres and geary in

Hoping Webster recovers but if not I’d say he’s the only definite out

Longer will def maintain his spot

Acres should be good to go. Hope he comes straight back in.

Bruce and Gilbert both available, not sure they'll get picked though.

For a senior player, Mav has been bordering on embarrassing for 18 months… he should have been dropped weeks ago, is very fortunate that we have been decimated by injuries.

While his game against Gold Coast was better than his last his few, it's an absolute waste of time pumping more games into him… a forward that doesn't kick goals or lay many tackles is pointless.

We already know the coach loves the bloke, and the side he just picked very nearly got him sacked with two and half years remaining on his contract. Let's not pretend that we put a good side on the field last week because a fellow bottom four team s*** the bed.

Harbrow had more than his average disposals, 18 kicks and 7 rebound 50's. Is that a win to us?

If everybody is available, then you wouldn't change a winning team, as it was a little bit of gold in a crap season for the club. If we want to get technical, then we need at look at how we played in the first three quarters to see what went wrong and how GC got way ahead. Our defensive game as a team was terrible (some of this was down to tactical structures by the coaching crew) and exposed how slow we are both in leg speed and ball movement- especially the midfield.

I spoke to a guy who is Willy supporter, and he said that regardless of the conditions, Sandy were laughable and didn't have a clue. Hickey apparently handled the conditions well, but said the rest ran around a lot but didn't do much that amounted to anything and couldn't really pick any other player who stuck out.

Just missed last week. The prez said he was an in if Brown was still unfit.

I will say this about Weller.

While the Suns players were all out on the ground half hour or so before the game in their training jumpers, I saw only three saints players, Rice Billings and Weller.

Billings and Rice soon departed but Weller who was the first out kept having goal kicking practise with a support staff. He didn't miss many .

I was disappointed when he then missed some shots during the game.

Really surprised how happy people seem to be about only our 2nd win of the year against a very average side.

The side was slow on paper and sloth-like in practice, if we put that out again Melbourne will win by 15 goals.

Brown was getting destroyed by Lynch and was ordinary against Hogan and McDonald last time.

Mav has kicked 3 goals in 8 games this year. 3.

Out
Brown, Webster, Weller, Dunstan, Savage

In
White, Coffield, Acres, Freeman, Gilbert

They have been a team with their confidence shot to bits, and scraping home like they did, does put an extra spring in the step of a team- sure most of the game was a pretty poor, but the next game will at least see if these players have woken up about effort and persistence...and might give the coach a bit of a kick up the clacker too.
