Yeah they may not bring you instant results but will give you much better footy players in a few years who can actually keep the footy and use it intelligently. One question have you seen White and Rice play even one game of footy? They are no where near ready for AFL footy, White is way too light and Rice has been only average in the VFL and has a long way to go before he plays AFL.
As for Sinclair and Lonie, both of them have failed to get anywhere near the ball this year in the Seniors when given a chance and provide no defensive pressure when they don't have it ,and Pierce is a ruckman, should he have been playing instead of Hickey? Or did you want him to play forward ahead of Bruce, Membrey or Paddy as a key forward? No hold on, maybe Pierce should replace Roo, after all he is over 30 and therefore no good

According to VFL website he played for the Dev team. You will have seen that he was listed on the Sandy senior team list reproduced in this thread, with no disposals , but there were 24 on that list and only 23 can play.

But much like their performance against Williamstown, the Zebras were undone by inaccuracy in front of goal and poor disposal in critical times.

As the game remained on a knife’s edge, Sandringham were unable to respond to Box Hill’s challenge in the third. Early quarter goals to the Hawks switched momentum, with the Zebras lacking polish to go with Box Hill.

A run of four straight behinds was broken when Iudica and Shenton teamed up for goal, only for Box Hill to hit back instantly. Then when Iudica’s snap missed fractionally, Tim O’Brien punished Sandringham for their 1.6 quarter with a late goal.

From there, it was all Box Hill. Sandringham’s courage in the contest and hard work was not to be, as the Hawks kicked away for an important win.

After the game, Hudson lamented the lack of polish in an otherwise gutsy performance.

“I said to the boys I really like the way they went about it.” Hudson said.

“No issues for mine, their courage in the contest – we pride ourselves on our trademark and we’ll have some very good clips lets put it that way.

“They took a couple of big marks going inside 50 and we didn’t. We probably needed to change that up, lower the eyes.”

What the hell is this post about?

Bring them all in and drop half the team. Some think they can pick a side of 28 each week.

Yes I have seen Whitey and Ricey play - White looks fine. Don't know why everyone bangs on about him not being physically ready. Oh sure lets smash the sweet jesus out of first year 177cm Gresham - pound the little bugger into the ground playing every single game - hang on, lets throw the little chappie in the middle against the Sydney midfield beasts who love to land on little guys and squash them like bugs. But White is like meth apparently - not even once. Anyone got any cotton wool to wrap him up in?

And the coach agrees with me - said he was close to selection before being injured. He's playing great 24 possie game - wouldn't kill him to play a game and get a taste of what he needs to work towards in the off season. And the kid can kick - but I know that is not something Richo likes so probably won't play.

Rice is a bit undercooked (heh, heh). How about Sinclair, Lonie and Billings are actually allowed to use their sweet skills instead of just this boring "defensive pressure" crap. They might actually look like they enjoy their footy and get a bit of their spark back and hit up our forwards with their exquisite skills and creativity. No instead lets just get failed rugby players who can tackle like a wrecking ball but can barely use the footy.

And with Paddy and LOnger out injured it was a brilliant chance to give Pierce A Chance and give him encouragement and test out his forward capability in the big show - valuable knowledge in the off season. Who knows if he'll get a shot next year if Longer comes back to full health and finds some form. Golden oppo lost for Piercey. Oh well. Why experiment now when wins don't matter that much (and might actually give us an advantage with a high draft pick). Lets wait until we are flag contenders and then decide to experiment - that makes sense.

Eli still refuses to comply with directions to come off when called by coaching staff to do so. Either he's deaf or is playing only for Eli. I think it's the latter.

Lewie may replace Hickey this week, although I think Billy will get the nod.

Sinc and/or Lonie could get a crack this week at the expense of Meatball.

Brandon and Bailey are not ready and can wait till next year.
