That would be ridiculous and unfair if that is the case. Unless he is injured or unwell he should be playing.

Can't see McKenzie or Murdoch playing.

With neither Fisher nor Dempster playing I reckon Richo is forced into playing both Lee and Delaney.

Otherwise we will have a combo of Geary, Savage and Gilbo holding up a key defensive post which won't bode well.
I just had look at the Carlton forward line, and they've only got one big forward in Casboult.
Casboult 199

Everiit 194
Cripps often pushes forwarded and while listed as 193 it has been claimed that he has grown.
Walker 190
Sivagni may play who is 191

Gorringe 200 and Phillips are both listed in the 7 man bench and so one may play...so one of them and/or Kruezer likey to spnd time in the forward line.

So we certainly want to have more than one key defender. Gilbo and Robbo both have height but do not tend to play as key defenders.

It isn't a 'tendency'

Gilbert and Robbo simply do not play as key defenders. Full stop.

Would it what. Big ask though with the bookends, Fisher and Riewoldt and apprentices Paddy and Goddard, out.
Backs against the wall. Anything can happen - and we are at home against a team that has had only a couple of significant wins. Unfortunately one of them was only 2 weeks ago against Geelong
If they'd beaten Cats last week, I'd say we had a chance, because they'd still be celebrating.
A week further on, reality sets in and Bolton would have them focussed on the job of getting close to the 8.
They might falter later on when they're jaded and a bit flat, but he's got them believing.
Unlike AR who has lost the players now.
Big loss.

I'd like our chances but for the absolute dross served up last week. Who knows how long that will take to recover from

Getting whacked in Perth and Adelaide, either the tactics are wrong, or the players won't follow the game plan.
The tactics work, cos nearly got up against Roos +Hawks.
Jamie Cox said that our guys did NOT follow plan against WCE.
It's on record.e
If they won't listen, it's cos they lost respect for him..
Simple.

There is a lot of hype about Carlton -they are not that good.
The only scalp they have taken is Geelong who showed little intensity that day.
The other five wins have been against the worst performing teams - Essendon, Fremantle, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Collingwood.
It's only losing Roo and Paddy that makes it harder but we should win at Etihad.

Yes he has grown ,but as I said before Cripps is officially listed in the AFL Record at 195cm , not 193cm.

He is hugh for a mid, maybe too big in the end.

Good bet to have money on
With such a disruption, the teams "system" will be not followed.
Its gonna be a train wreck
Possibly, but backing margins is a mug's game. Carlton are $1.70 to win, a somewhat astonishing figure that has actually lengthened after team selections. Then again, we are playing at home (alas, so are they).

That's true, but they are playing well together as a team, you have to admit that. It would seem that their coaching panel can take credit for that.

The only way to make money is margins. Considering our eagles game, I was convinced crows would kill us, but didn't place a bet.
It would have paid nicely.

Can't believe Billings was omitted. Ludicrous decision. Hope he absolutely kills it in the VFL.

Billings out is very disappointing, there has to be a very good reason because he's been far from our worst! Disappointing but these are the moments that will define our continued development as a side, we have to stay the course thru the speed bumps!

I dont mind the INs for this week trialling Lewis Pierce is a great move. Means we can see if theres any versatility with him going forward and rotating with Hickey throughout the game and certainly will give bruce a much needed rest. Nathan Wright is probably on his last legs at the club (not sure on contract). Been on the list 4 seasons(?) now and i know it has been injury plagues but hasnt really set the world on fire when selected. Delaney i think is on the same path as Lee if they cant make it this season i cant see them signing on next season. In terms of the outs i just dont think Murdoch is up to it. as much as hes blessed with that left foot of his, he cant find the footy, seems to get lost defensively and is a touch too slow. maybe they sign him as a rookie for next season but again 4 seasons or so on the list now. Lastly Billings getting dropped will do him some good. Hes been relatively below expectations this season, i dont really care for the stats theres been a few times where all he has to do is slot a pass on the lead or put away a goal and he hasnt done it. Richo seems to be very good at a do what i ask of you or you'll get dropped to work on it. Based on the injuries we've received for the next month or so it will be good to try out the kids on the list and see what they can offer with the list going forward. who cares about the results lets just see a competitive effort from the boys!
