How good is this guy going? 30+ possessions and 8 F50 entries. This guy is our next A grader. Great game.

He was good the first 2 weeks too. I think he's really stepped up.
I always feel safe when he has the ball in hands

Agree totally . Very assured. For mine he was not far behind Joey as BOG.

Always thought he was a tad overrated myself... The kind of player that seems ok but never really steps up that much or does particularly great things.

Seems to have been one of the few so far this season that has definitively stepped his game up a level.

Looking like a future Captain i think

He was great last year too. Seems to fly under the radar in most circles I reckon.

He looked like he had real intent in that second half. Sometimes it feels like he covers a lot of ground without necessarily being damaging but yesterday he was a hunter with real desperation to make an impact - when he was on his hands and knees and got that hand on the ball he had no right to - that was inspirational - and his kicking was brilliant.

Not as many as those that spell Steven with an extra s at the end.

The only half-positive thing Scott Watters ever did for St Kilda was to pump games into Newnes early in his career, and keep backing him even when he made mistakes.

We are now reaping the rewards. He's having a terrific year.

I love the bloke. Tough, smart, quick, good kick, competes in the air. All-round game.

That bit of play was Lenny like I reckon. Led to a Mav Weller goal through sheer desperation.

Has future captain written all over him.
