From this thread, I think, Josh the Bruce was doing some relief ruck work ala Stanley in the match simulation.

That might be a bit of stop gap measure but hey I'm cool for doing some experimenting this year when the reality is we have little to lose. Bruce is a good competitor and struggling to find a spot so go for it. Maybe Markworth or White could try relief rucking. Lets play Billings out of the backline to give us some penetrating kicking from back there and he can learn what backman like the least from forwards. Dunstan to play forward to learn how to lock the ball in and how the ball should come into forwards. If Lee is struggling forward lets try him as a back - some of the best backs have been failed forwards. The more positions you play the more you can appreciate how a team works as a whole. Clarkson has brilliantly made Hawks players the most versatile in the league able to switch up positions and tactics regularly, throwing team defences completely out of whack. We should be working on our versatility too while we can. It will be interesting to see how much Richo is willing to experiment and how creative he is, position wise and tactically. My gut says he is a great at creating a development environment and getting belief and work rate into the kids like he did with Port and now us but maybe not so much tactically. He seems too nice and normal to be one of those left-field, tactical genius coaches.

He is 197cm. If he can pinch hit in the ruck and go fwd it gives us huge flexibility. It means we only need play one specialist Ruckman. So I can sure see why they are trying this out. Makes sense. He should be able to do that at least as well as Stanley.

......playing marksworth in the ruck is a bit like using your Rolls Royce to round up sheep......with the back doors removed so the sheepdogs can get in and out as required....

Agreed. He's 189cm, doesn't have the build of a key position player and seems to be injury prone. The ruck sounds like a terrible idea to me.

I doubt he only 189 these days. He's taller than Newnes etc but he's no ruck man. I'm 6'2" which is about 188cm and he's taller than me not by heaps but I would say around 191. Newnes doesn't look as tall as me and I saw something saying he was the same height as DM. Webster also looks a bit taller than me and might have grown a couple of cm.

I wonder if we could ask the club to publish ACCURATE heights and weights for this year,
