Never an easy task to win your way to the senior list but this bloke is clearly good enough.

It's a matter of fighting for the right to earn your place. He's going to have to prove he has the desire to match his talent.

With there being no guarantees on the rookie list, he has to fight from day one. And he has to fight with Eli Templeton for an upgrade.

I reckon he'll make it.

Welcome to St.Kilda Mav.
Hope that it can become a beautiful relationship. Look forward to seeing Mav pushing himself into selection consideration.
It is exciting to witness the new guys entering the fold and we can look forward to seeing them in the big time soon.

GO SAINTS!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Happy about this. Really wanted to come to us. Has impressed everyone on the track & is in absolutely ripping physical condition.

I reckon he's ready to take this opportunity with both hands.

Could you please post some here when you get a sec.

Pleased to get Mav. Won't die wondering. He, Tom Curren and Sean Dempster will be three peas in a pod.

He was going pretty well at the Suns so a great get. He's a ready to go big bodied mid defender that is super fit. Really good get. 27 disposals in his last game and was in their best players as a rebound defender.

Read an interview with Maverick, where he said that the Suns told him about a month before the end of the season that he was getting the chop.
Wonder what they thought after that last game?

Is there anyone we got who isnt a good pick? Weller looks OK but he has a lot of work to do. Firstly baring a LTI he cant play till round 13 and even then he is fighting with 3 other players. We will see on him. Hopefully he becomes a very good AFL player.

My god you are absolutely correct- this guy is an unproven dick wad. And as for the other new guys they are even worse. They haven't even been as good as Weller in fact we are a s*** club all together. The evidence was right there all along and my fan love of the club has had me deluding myself all along. We should demand more of all our new guys and none should be giving us any excitement until they win a brownlow. For too long mediocrity has prevailed. Sack them all.

You really should ask Big Mart he will give you all the reasons why we have stuffed up again.

a predictable post by Plugger66 ... in one breath bag those for being happy about the draft pick then cover it up with a hope he turns out good comment ...

Very pleased with Mav Weller, 21 strong inside mid and that's what the Saints need - can't have too many clearance players. Good to see the Saints gave him a second chance. Easily one of the best of the delisted players.

And an even more predictable one from you. Sorry but I aint going to say he is a great get until I see him and all the other new guys play. You had a go at ledger today but what did you think of him when drafted. Prbably said it was a great get.

Sorry but I also cannot see where I bagged one person but make that up anyway. Just asked a simple question is there anyone who wasnt a good pick. And of course I hope he turns out ok. I love my club but I refuse to get excited or bag any player I havent seen. In this case I am unsure on Weller.
