assistant coaches left every year under R L
and one of them has continued to move about every 2 years,
But one which left has returned in a differant role and is carving out a respected new career -
some assistants have survived through 2 coaching changes-- must be good workers who accept that there are differances everywhere- roll with the flow.

fitness? seems we and many clubs have had about the same number revolve over the last few years....and our most recent former fitness guy has rewound to his former...

those that 'match' needs to personalities are hard to find... in any work place.. compromise or a conduit can be achieved.

I just do know how I can go on supporting this rabble now that Jamie Graham and Bill Devondale have left....

My life just doesn't have any meaning anymore.

And if Laidley walks... I just don't know how we are going to organise a centre bounce setup with only 3 in the square :(

We'll have to get help from p66.
His Dad's mate or third cousin used to clean the dunnies at Moorabbin in the early 60's, so we need that man to join the Saints board to get things done right.

no mention here of dysfunction at North lose one of the recruiting department in the middle of trade month and before Draft time...

PS side note-- apparently Kingsley and ( supposedly Hutchison) were to be over in London withan AFL coaching group- according to Peter bruckner- but I wonder if Hutchison could have gone..

“I found the whole thing around Scott’s extension the wrong way round, it’s been seen as an uncertainty (his future), but it’s got nothing to do with it,” he said.

“I can’t see how you can put a contract extension to somebody, whether it be one year, two years, five years, how would you put that to them until they see where you are taking the list management. How could you put that to them until they see the whole structure you’re trying to achieve at the club over that period?

“I can’t see how you can do it ... Because you’d be buying into it for your own reasons and not club reasons.”

This season, the Saints finished 16th with a 5-17 win-loss record.

Summers said it was “one of those years you had to go through to get a better consensus on where you’re heading”.

“As a club, we are very anxious and anxious people tend to act in a negative way, anxious people want to hide, get scared, they go to ground, and what I’m trying to do through this vision statement is to empower and encourage people to lift themselves out of that,’’ Summers said.

Quite shortly after I receive a phone call from a producer at the station passing on a message from Finey that the big news is that a few assistant coaches have left and the head of fitness went off to Collingwood. "What bigger news do you want?" he said.

I pressed him a bit more and he said that the head of football and coach are not speaking to each other, but of course that could not be said publicly on air.

So I asked him what Finey was trying to achieve by making big statements that could not be supported with any facts due to confidentiality.

At that point, the guy snapped, and said that Finey wanted to tell me that I was a f***ing wanker and never to listen again.

So there you have it... Mark Fine in a nutshell.
Hell, is that true? If so, it speaks of massive unprofessionalism at SEN and heads need to roll.

We weren't at Moorabbin in the early 60s. Mind you the VFL second division side Moorabbin FC were, so it's probably right. Did your third cousin work there back then Pluggs?

I think the Robbo article is worthy of it's own thread. Our new President sounds like a no BS sort of bloke. And sounds like he's going to bang a few heads and sort some stuff out. Good.

OOPS....see that you did make a new thread!

Threads ad nauseam on this now but
Maybe this was the 72 Hour bonanza we have been courting?
Regardless, it looks like we are the media whipping boys and can expect this bashing to go on ad nausea as well, which is probably more to the point. We seem to be in a black hole in terms of press negativity and it would take some king of miracle to escape their frenzy

Pippa Grange sure has worked with us before, Bratty. She was part of the group put together to decide our next coach a couple of years back.....when we chose a bloke named Watters, from memory.

Not sure why anyone would listen to SEN. There just isn't enough interesting sports news to sustain it.
