Thanks to Ross Lyon

Post: # 1382559Post 6621104 »

Figure we owe a little to the man as following his selections it let our senior players send off three of their own in style. They clearly enjoyed the game and did their best to give Kosi, Milney and Blake a game to remember. It may take Kosi a while to live down being outscored by Blakey! That said, we have some good ones coming up to cover the loss of some greats. Lee will be OK, Curren ditto and even Ledger may eventually show something.

A touch of class by RL after the game; time is a healer. One day some of us will see him less of a heel.

Good to see him out hugging the boys after the game.

I bet Ross is glad that Geelong won by a point. Had they drawn or lost, then a win to Freo would have seen them take second place. That said, I reckon that we would have beaten them anyway today even if they were at full strength. It was just one of those things that was going to happen in the last game of the year.

He should get done for bringing the game into disrepute for tanking the game.

What happened to the suggestion Freo would take part in the guard of honour?

Having not yet seen the replay, what was his demeanour in the coaches's box?

I was hoping they would show Ross in the box so we could all boo him.
Only showed him a couple of times and the prick seemed emotionless.

He was probably sweating back in the rooms as he nearly stuffed up monumentally today

We just happened to cross paths at 3/4 time.... To be honest I still like Ross, but I couldn't let a perfect opportunity slip on behalf of the irate posters on here.

From a meter away I gave him "JUDAS!!! JUDAS...BOOOOOOOO".
A couple of Freo fans standing next to me looked shocked..all good fun

Loyalty is a funny concept for coaches. Who should Leigh Matthews be loyal to? Or Michael Malthouse? Or Mark Thompson? Or Scott Watters for that matter? If loyalty means that coaches must stay until they are given the flick, then it seems like a one way street.

In the end, Ross's loyalty was to his financial circumstances and those who depend upon it - his family. Had he not been wracked with nightmares of two impossibly unlucky GFs, even that might not have persuaded him.

The players don't hold grudges like supporters. He was at Lenny's wedding a couple of months after leaving us and everyone had a great day.

Agree
Today was a great 4 quarter effort !
I'm sure with the tenacity and endeavour we showed today , we would have beaten there full strength team only not by 12 goals .
they only got on top of us in the last 15 minutes of the game at subi this year .

I respect Ross as a tactician and coach.
But as a person he lacks integrity.

Hope the AFL make him play at Kardinia Park next week and they get PULVERISED

ross loves his old best 22. he loves milney, kozi and blake. changing clubs wont change that.

listening to him over here, i actually think he still has red white and back running through his veins. will always be his home. he still refers to us as we.

freo is more the $$$ he needed for personal and family reasons. its his job. lets call it what it is, a franchise

He looked genuinely upset when Kosi's goal was disallowed.

Didn't think he had a lot of talent coming through with his second stringers
