I understand that weirdness, you kind of hope it will be easier for the players to pick up the pieces if they're just a little way off.
The general consensus on here was that it wouldn't have mattered if we'd got into 8th spot as you have to finish top 4 to be any chance at the Flag.
Therefore why should anyone get worked up about who slips into the bottom finals spot as a result of our efforts, good or bad?
Just win what is winnable.
Tell Adelaide back in 1997 being 5th on the ladder didn't matter.
