Hmmm, let's see.

Playing Carlton at Etihad? I suppose the "traditional" timeslot of Monday night would be the favourite.

And if we make the 8; a final on the Friday night :P

I think it will be Saturday Night. At the time they decide on the scheduling, both Carlton and St Kilda are still likely to be fighting for a finals spot, so they won't risk a Sunday match. Especially when there will already be good options for Sunday matches by then (BL v WB, GWS v NM, Frem v Melb for example). And I highly doubt it will be Friday night, which will likely be Hawthorn v WCE at the MCG. This gives WCE, a likely top 2 finisher, the best rest going into Finals Week 1, especially seeing as they have to fly back to Perth.

Obviously they will have a better idea after the next few weeks, especially with big finals deciding matches like North Melbourne playing Carlton & Richmond coming up. For the fun of predicting, I think Round 23 will look something like this:

Friday, August 31
Hawthorn v West Coast Eagles (7.50pm, MCG)

Saturday September 1
Essendon v Collingwood (1.45pm, MCG)
Geelong Cats v Sydney Swans (2.10pm, SS)
Fremantle v Melbourne (4:40pm, PS)
Adelaide Crows v Gold Coast Suns (7.10pm, AAMI)
Carlton v St Kilda (7.40pm, ES)

Sunday, September 2
GWS Giants v North Melbourne (1.10pm, SK)
Brisbane Lions v Western Bulldogs (3.15pm, Gabba)
Richmond v Port Adelaide (4.40pm, MCG)

WE will get shafted with yet another night time slot, I have no doubt.

No way in hell the article will be right.

The AFL want to maximise TV ratings first and foremost, so our game will almost defintely be a night fixture.

I hope you are right and it is a night fixture.
